Summary: The sheer size of this thing is impressive. I got the wall mount and put it between a tv and a floating salamander cabinet. The trick was getting all three things lined up. It took an electrician but looks very slick so vote for mounting it on the wall. I don'y have a room with 4 walls so was not expecting much surround sound effect. I do get the sense of s left, right, and center channel.
Summary: This is my second Yamaha top of the range sound bar. Much more compact than the first, and even better performance. I have finally moved happily from the clutter of 6 speakers with hardly a compromise to my sound enjoyment. I even retired my subwoofer since the bass performance of this unit is so good. Improvements to the cable connections over the previous model are appreciated, but the fit is still tight.
Summary: Bought this nearly two years ago and it still is amazing. The surround sound is completely dead on, and I'll find myself looking over my shoulder thinking someone, or something, is outside. Setup is extremely easy, including the sound calibration ... just get out of the room because some of the tones during the calibration are like fingers on a chalkboard.
Highly recommended fantastic sounding hometheater sound bar !!!!!

Summary: An excellent solution for a great sounding, elegant hometheater. The sound is very clear for a center speaker. Very accurate left to right effect movement and with the proper room and setup adjustments, which can take some time and listening over several movies, suprisingly convincing front to back effecs. I professionally installed hometheater systems for 15yrs and the sound quality very accurate and for ease of install this speaker can not be beat.
Summary: The product performed as advertised. I am using it in a small rectangular room with reflective walls and no obstructions to the sound beam's incidents or reflections. The YSP-5100's subwoofer output feeds a SVSound AS-EQ1, Audyssey MultEQ XT based, subwoofer equalizer. The EQ1 has dual outputs which feed two JBL PSW-D115 Subwoofers that are each positioned against, and midway along each of the opposite longside walls.
Summary: Let's start with honesty: truly convicing surround cannot be achieved (yet?) with a single unit placed on one side of the room. But this unit does prevent me wiring and rewiring when I move my furniture and does a respectable job at creating a broader audio experience than a single, center speaker alone.
Summary: The good: Simple to install Amazing sound Does make you feel like you are sitting the the middle of the cinema The functionality has anything I wanted and more The downside: no sub woofer (but I already owned one) a bit expensive terrible user manual
Summary: I teamed the Yamaha YSP-5100 with a Mitsubishi 82" TV and Bic America F-12" sub. Just watched The Pacific on HBO. Awesome !!!It sounded like I had speakers in my bathroom and air conditioner.THE 5100 even set the volume for my sub.Shop around- paid $1288 delivered.
Summary: I chose the Yamaha Sound Projector to provide top quality sound without all the wires and speakers that come with typical home theater systems. I had heard sound bars before and really wasn't all that impressed so I took a chance and ordered the Yamaha YSP for its claimed ability to provide surround sound without all the set up and install headaches. First at nearly 9 inches tall and loaded with countless speakers this unit is physically very impressive.
