Summary: I bought the Yamaha YSP-4100 a couple of years back at a ridiculous open-box price at a local store. I was looking for something relatively clean and simple to improve the sound of our Sony 52" LCD television, and my old surround receiver just was not up to the newer stuff.
Summary: If you don't have the space for a 5.1 or 7.1 system then this is one of the better options available. It has the option for auto set-up or manual set-up if you prefer. But to get the best sound you really need to match with a good subwoofer.
Got what I was expecting overall with decent sound and quality

Summary: I was looking for a soundbar with HDMI switching and support for 5.1+ audio. Many soundbars have one but not the other. This one seemed to fit the bill and Yamaha products have been good to me in the past so I jumped on it.
Summary: Moved into a new house and living room didn't have prewired surround sound in ceiling. Because it was down stairs, I didn't want to cut all the drywall and try to patch. Super impressed with this unit. Must use auto-tunner receiver to dial in the surround sound.
Cons: Price. Limited Inputs. Location of inputs (under the unit at strange angles). HDMI doesn't always pickup digital audio, had to use optical cables to get full surround sound to work. Limited audio settings, no "dolby digital" auto sense funtion. No 3D pass-through.
