Summary: I was in the market for a soundbar with multi-HDMI inputs (for it's HMDI control and DTS/TrueHD advantage), and I narrowed it down to the Sony HT-NT3, Sony HT-ST9 (Flagship), JBL SB400, and this Yamaha-YSP-2500.

Summary: Forget about a wired system. I had a high end complete 5.1 DVD/sound system and very little of substance ever came out of the two wired rear speakers anyway. That is the way they are designed to work. I donated mine to charity when I bought the YSP 3300.

Summary: Wirecutter recommends this, and I agree. Astounding audio clarity. I'm amazed how clear and powerful the sound is without drowning out conversations in the room. I've used it for movies, music, etc. It's an all-around excellent piece.
Summary: Once set up, amazing sound. Replaced my 5.1 surround setup with this and it has exceeded my expectations. Just remember, you have to have walls all around you to make this work well. The surround sound is bounced off the walls, and in my case works as advertised.
Summary: Have gone through a few soundbars. Decided to spend the extra bucks and move into a higher level with the Yamaha YSP3300. First off, on looks alone, its aluminium case gives it a high quality look and the wife is happy to include it in any part of our home. Set-up is simple and straight forward.
Excerpt: effortless set-up ... mounted unit in a tough room - one side open to another room, the other side a kitchen area with a diffuse 'wall'. The subwoofer not real ideally placed either, but ... ran the auto cal and ta-da, it sounds great.
Summary: After marriage and kids forced me to dispose of my old tube amplifier and big energy-hog speakers, I had been forced to endure average surround sound through the multiple small speakers that encircled the room where the big-screen HDTV was located.
