Summary: I'm no audiophile, but I am a picky customer. No: I can't tell the difference between 20Mhz and 21Mhz. Yes: I like quality. What I can tell you is that this unit has a ton of features, but most importantly: sounds good -- rich, full sound. It's powerful enough to be "way to loud and cause the neighbor's to complain" but it's compact enough to not clutter up our entire living room with speakers and wire etc. I really liked the "automatic-self-setup-microphone" thing.
Summary: This home theater system is great. By all means buy this along with some different front speakers. I hooked up my old cerwin vegas and it rocks. The reciever is great and the sound is phenominal. It is well worth the money. There isn't a whole lot of difference between this on and the lower models, so if you're on a budget get the 393. I was going to but, the local store had this last year model and floor model discount, I got it for a steal. Don't wait.
Summary: I purchased this system at a retail store for $500. I was going to buy a Denon receiver and a Yamaha speaker package. For a few dollars more I picked up this HTiB. The included receiver is a Yamaha 467 and this receiver is quite nice. It has all of the connections I need for my home entertainment system. I'm using this in a newly remodeled "great room" that is a kitchen/dining/family room combination.
Summary: This unit came from LiveSpan thru Amazon. Was fastest shipping ever. I would rate system a 6 on scale of 1 to 10. Easy setup also. The automatic speaker setting is a real time saver. I would recommend this to friends & family for an average surround sound system. If you prefer something better, best have an extra 1000.00 to invest.
Summary: I purchased this HTiB (Home Theatre in a Box) as a replacement for my old Philips HTiB that kept shutting down on me. This is my 4th HTiB now, where the first 3 were simpler and much cheaper models. Note: I'm not an audiophile, but I do like to have a good audio quality when watching a movie. The first impression was: WOW! The product arrived very well packaged, and all parts of the product feel very solid and very well build.
Summary: Got this for a small living room home theater set up. Had it about a month and happy so far. Relatively easy to set up, and feature set is good. Am using it as 'switch' to control several HDMI devices (cable box, blue ray player) routed to the TV. Remote can handle all the other devices, though their individual dedicated remotes have some easier to use features on them that you may find trickier to navigate to using the stereo's remote.
Summary: This is my first ever HTiB and it's amazing. We live in a loft style condo with about 15 foot ceilings and for some reason thought it would sound weird, but it sounds PERFECT. The subwoofer is very powerful. Luckily, we have cement blocks on all sides of the condo so it doesn't disturb the neighbors. Currently, I only have 3 speakers installed instead of all 5. they all sit right under my Vizio 55inch (xvt553 series).
