Summary: I had to order the next step up in receiver and speakers since the shipper damaged mine. Customer service was lacking beyond belief. I had to contact them to find out where my items were only to find out they didn't have anymore. I upgraded and am very pleased with the system. Plenty of power and sounds great!. I would not buy from this seller again since their customer service sucks. 5+ starts for the system 0+ starts for the seller.
Summary: I have been using this system for over a year, and I remain very pleased. The sound quality is NOT audiophile excellent, but consider the price. I needed decent sound without spending thousands of dollars, and this system was by far the best "bang-for-the-buck" set up I could find. Nothing else even came close. I have had a lot of experience with sound systems, and I think this unit is really amazing. I was able to adjust it so it sounds fine used with my TV.
Summary: As soon as I opened the box, I felt this would be a great purchase. Having had plenty of experience with other Yamaha products the name is good. This however, for one reason or other, is my first Yamaha amplifier/receiver. It's sold as a THIB, or theater-in-a-box as they say these days, but to me, it's a receiver. The front end, or pre-amp, is integral with the rest of the amp, thereby not allowing access between, but no problems for me.
Summary: I've got this system set up in my basement home theater and it delivers on the sound and bass. I haven't had a chance to play with all the features, but I'm very pleased so far. The only complaint would be from my wife, who says she can hear the bass two floors up in our bedroom.
Summary: I did quite a bit of research prior to buying this product. I wasn't looking to spend a fortune but wanted something of decent quality. I actually went to Best Buy to preview this product prior to buying it and also to look at some other systems that I had considered buying. After comparing the Yamaha to one of the Sony models I had considered, I immediately realized the Yamaha was far superior to both Sony and Samsung. The sound is amazing, loud, and clear.
Summary: I was actually very surprised at the quality of the sound this system produces. Whether you're watching stereo television, DD 5.1, or an mp3 file it really surpasses expectations. I'd recommend it to anyone who is looking for a low cost solution. The hookup is easy and having four HDMI ports makes thing simple. One thing, though, the remote on and off is difficult for many remotes to handle. Even with my Harmony One it is sometimes a challenge to get it to work right.
Summary: After doing quite a bit of research and not finding anything I liked, I took a trip to PC Richard and Son and found a Yamaha receiver for $400. I pressed play and turned the speakers way up. I bought it immediately. 100 times better than the other HTIBs for this price. The receiver has lots of great features and everyone thinks I spent thousands on my sounds system. This is a system that sounds great! This should be a top recommended product on CNET!!!
Summary: This product is priced just right. You get exactly what you expect from the system, great sound and a ton of options. This has inputs galore, with 4 hdmi in and 1 out it can handle plenty of hd content and give great sound to all of it. Easy to set up, easier to customize and use.
