Better than original speakers but short of wonderous.

Summary: The soundbar was purchased because of the "clear voice" application which was supposed to clarify voices for slight hard of hearing persons. The soundbar is a little better than the TV's original speakers but does not work any miracles. I would not purchase this unit again but I felt it was worth the chance.I am not degrading the unit but I am still looking for a better solution. If you get it at the right price it is worth trying.
Summary: The sound bar didn't improve the sound that much from the TV speakers on satellite programing to warrant the cost of the sound bar. There was more of an improvement in the sound with movies on the DVD though.
Pros: Clear Sound, Easy To Set Up, Interfaces Well With TV
Summary: The sound is fairly good. It is better than what is on the TV. Based on reviews, I thought the sound would be pretty spectacular despite it did not have a seperate speaker for surround sound. It is just okay. Clear sound and it looks nice.
Summary: Nice little soundbar. Work great in a small room and to supplement tv output. Really have to crank it to get a decent output in a average sized living room. Work better in a bedroom. Used with an external subwoofer. Had a hard time matching the output for sub to soundbar w/o the sub level being maxed. Overall it is a good sound. An improvement would be some tweeters and or another pair of midrandge drivers.
Pros: The sound bar is able to learn remote control codes so you don't have to have a separate remote. The pass through is a great feature, and this has a mounting setup so it can easily be put on a wall. There are lots of sound modes too.
Cons: For the money there are better sounding systems out there. The speakers are very loud, but without a separate sub the whole system sounds almost empty.
Summary: Bought this item a few days ago at Costco to try and improve upon anemic TV sound (Insignia 42" HD LCD) and also declutter the front room with five separate speakers all over the place. The unit (which appears quite similar to the YAS101) was well-packaged, the instructions were easy to follow, and the set-up was quick.
