Summary: PROS: I like that it is compatible with my sony bravia tv and the sony blu-ray player. It has an easy calibration mode that adjusts the sound level for the location where you sit. the system works very well and you get the surround sound when you watch dvd movies. CONS: THE REMOTE CONTROL IS HARD TO READ, HAS A LOT OF BUTTONS, AND NOT CLEARLY MARKED. OTHER WISE, I'M HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE.
Summary: I researched my options carefully and found this to be a great deal since it was "last year's model." The HDMI inputs make this a "no-brainer" in more ways than one. Easy setup, sounds great, bargain price - Pretty hard to beat...
Summary: I got this on sale during the black friday online special for about $250 and loving each use of it. The 3 hdmi ports behind it made it easier for me to switch to each device when my lcd tv port is filled up. Audio is not bad compare to my old one I had since about 15 years ago which still works till now. I get this one if you are not looking for a theater system that does not come with a dvd/bluray player which that part i did not need since I own those already.
Summary: It`s a great component for music and video. My concern is that I had to buy a new DVD because the one that I used for years did not have an HDMI output wich is the kind of image that you will need for this home theather. I have not try the blue ray with this component but the other features (like the quality of sound) are ok.
Summary: I've had this unit for close to a year now and I've been totally pleased with it. It was very easy to setup and has excellent sound for the price. While many reviewers on here say they had problems with the auto-calibration and it made the unit sound awful/tinny, I had absolutely no problems with it and it worked great for me. Maybe it depends on the size/setup of the room you have it in?
Summary: I have been waiting for a system to be in the right price range and have audio sent through HDMI. I got that and more. I have my PS3,X-Box 360 and a HD-DVD player attached to the receiver.Just hit the corresponding button on the remote that you have that items HDMI hooked into and you are good to go. I do have an Optical cable going from the TV to the Receiver and with this system I am in the middle of my favorite movies.
Summary: MIND YOURSELF THAT THIS ITEM IS JUST A RECEIVER, IT DOES NOT ACTUALLY PLAY DISKS HOWEVER THE SOUND IS CRISP AND CLEAR, EVEN THOUGH THE SPEAKERS WERE MADE WITH TIP PLASTIC AND THE MENUS ARE CONFUSING BECAUSE YOU CAN NOT SEE THEM ON THE TV (VIDEO OUTPUT) YOU HAVE TO CONFIGURE EVERYTHING IN THE LITTLE DISPLAY THIS SYSTEM HAS. ANYHOW IF YOU HAVE A PLAY STATION 3 TO MATCH THIS RECEIVER, WE ARE GOING TO BE HAPPY. IT WORKS FINE.
Summary: This is my first ever surround sound system and it's just what I expected. Crisp clean sound. It may not compete with "expensive" set-ups but for people who simply don't have the money to the high-end equipment this definately gets the job done. I only wish they would of included an on-screen menu that would display on the TV but oh well.
