Summary: It works. I bought one, and had to replace the speakers at least for the improvement with bigger 2way Full range-Hi-fi Pana***** used ones from the local store for 10$. The sound from the original speakers was awful (not realistic). Original center speaker is so small, that it gives out only bird tone voices (birds – the small ones). Bought the system for 300$ but it worth only 100$ mainly because of the amp. The design is great for the eye, but not for the ears.
Summary: I like our system but there is something missing in the sound. Watching TV shows versus movies. Either the conversations are too loud and the background noise isn't (doesn't match) or vice versa. It's hard to get it to work right for me and the auto tuning feature is all but useless IMHO. They're cheap and maybe that was my mistake. I don't trust CNET anymore after they're review.
Summary: This is exactly what I was looking for. Something with BIGGG sound!!! I had a 1000w Panasonic bluray surround sound that was not producing enough of it. I used to have a Sony DVD Dream System that was very loud so it only made sense for me to buy this Sony system. It does not have a bluray player but is actually an amp with hdmi ports for your current system that allows 3d bluray, dvd, game systems, etc... to pass through the sound system.
Summary: First off, there is no blue ray disc player in this unit which was one of the selling features for me. Although I have a PS3, I'm very disappointed that Amazon advertised it as Blue Ray Disk. I had the little brother sony home theater system that I picked up at Walmart for $300 that is by far better quality sound. This unit looks sharp but the sound quality is just simply poor but it's loud if that's what you're looking for.
