Summary: Unfortunately, I did not realize, until we had this system, for a few months that the speakers on the extreme left and right no longer worked. By then it was beyond the warranty period and I could no longer return it to Amazon. The center speaker, two left and right speakers still work and we are continuing to use the system, but are disappointed in not getting the full stereo effect.
Summary: I bought this sound system to hook it up to my Vizio LCD and i am stunned how great this sound it has amazing sound and its easy to use. It also comes with a dock that works with ipods. It also works with the New iPod Touch 4g with face time.! this is a must if ur not willing to drop a lot of cash but want amazing sound. You wont be disappointed!
Summary: I challenge you to go to Best Buy and find a complete system (including a receiver unit) for this price. Not to mention it is of Sony quality. It's everything you need in a home theater system, including different channels for various sound distributions, a docking system for you iPod, and tons of wiring for spreading your speakers around the room.
Summary: I did a lot of research on home theater systems to go with my new Panasonic 50" Plasma. We put the new TV in our game room and wanted a 5.1 surround system to complete the effect. I'll get right to the point.....this system delivers great surround sound despite it's low low price. I have a Bose Lifestyle system in my family room so I wasn't expecting big things from this Sony system under $200.
Summary: If you want a feature packed surround sound receiver that will out-do all other out-of-the-box systems this one's a sleeper for the money. Sony hasn't missed anything in this one in fact it has more than I'll ever use in my set-up. Super value & I dare anyone to find better for less than six bills.
Summary: If you need to add a little juice to your sound, this is your answer. For 200.00 you will shake the house, hear sounds during gaming sessions you never heard before, and make your wife mad late at night. Great value. Cons:Remote has to point directly at the receiver. Small learning curve at navigating the menu.
Summary: This system does the trick at a very economical price tag. Be sure to read the specific speaker model on the bottom carefully when placing the speakers around the room. The speakers all look the same, but are not exactly the same in specs. The fixed connection speaker wire is a bit of a drag as with most products at this level; but, I have no problem with splicing and extending with more sturdy speaker wire.
Summary: A great sound improvement over my TV stereo speakers. For $200 to have solid quad sound and a very good sub is well worth it...not for audiophiles or for very big rooms where you have to overdrive the speakers. But for me, a smallish square room, I never have to turn it up past halfway and my DVD movies, satellite TV and music fill the room with clear sound and the sub rumbles and shakes the room.
