The Sony HT-DDWG700 is Sony’s budget surround sound system. It does offer an impressive 900 watts, but the 5 speakers and subwoofer are at low impedance, meaning that a lot of that wattage is wasted. The system will create 5.1 surround for a small price. It supports Dolby Digital, Pro Logic, and dts decoding. It has an optical and coax digital audio inputs as well as 4 analog inputs. The system also includes an iPod docking station to allow users to directly connect their iPods to the tuner. The system has a built in AM/FM tuner and appropriate antennas. The device is also XM Connect and Play compliant, making it easy to integrate an XM satellite radio tuner.

    wow what a system. i am so happy with this sony suround sound system. it took me 20 minutes to set everything up. if u want to get a bose system think again. the quality of the sound is unbeatable. i no a very good friend who has the bose life style and ithink that this sony system kills it in sound quality. the bose system dose sound good at a mid volume but once u turn it up u get a lot of THD when u crank the sony u get very little. bose gets paid to much u r only...     "Ok I am a sound technician, don't listen to what that guy said about the subwoofer being junky, he may have just got a faulty one. It may be a small subwoofer by the looks of it but it cranks out a lot of power. Pop in Lord of the Rings and you'll see what I mean. This system has plenty of power for a decent sized room, and for all of those that are tech oriented or even for those who are, it comes with a Real Time Analyzer (RTA) built into the unit.     It's worth the price and adds good surround sound to your system! I bought a SONY BRAVIA LCD and a SONY BluRay so I needed a surround system at a bargain. I am pleased with it, but it doesn't have buttons for radio stations and it's difficult to change stations with the remote.
