Summary: I bought this unit about 5 years ago now. It is still working so there was definitly value to this unit. At the pricing I am seeing on this now I do not think anyone would be disapointed. The surround sound speakers that come with the unit are not high end so if you are looking for great sound at very high volume you will not get it. There is some delay when turning the unit on which is about 4 seconds.
Summary: I bought this mainly to play video games on the xbox 360 and the ps3, setting this up wasnt hard to do, did it myself and i use this in my bedroom not the living room, i must say it does have more than enough power and works pretty sweet, the max volume is around 60 but on an average i use it around 24, i would recommend using reading the manual cause there is alot of features and setting you can mess with, the auto calabration is pretty sweet.
Summary: I purchased this after careful review for one main reason - the HDMI hookups. I had looked at the BOSE and other Sony systems that work well with DVD but don't do anything else. I'm not a techno-geek....I can just about keep up with Pro Logic vs. DTS vs. Dolby Digital..... I've had it up and working for 3-4 months now using Rocketfish wireless rear speakers and connected to a Sony XBR TV, PS3, Comcast box, DVD player & Roku soundbridge media streamer (I love my toys).
Summary: This is great I purchased it for my second PS3 setup and couldn't be happier. It has HDMI plus a mic and self calibration feature, which is very nice. The display could be a little more up to date or have more graphic capabilities, but what it has gets the job done, and is no different then most other systems on the market.
Summary: If it were not for the difficulty in hooking this up, I would have given it 5 stars. the instructions included are confusing, they don't tell you in plain simple detail how to connect components, needless to say I have been installing audio systems for 20 years, so I had to figure things out on my own.
Summary: I am not up on electronic technology, but I know how to make comparisons and the Sony system seems to offer much more bang for the buck. Systems in this range did not tend to offer the 1080p resolution as does the Sony. There is Dloby digital, HDMI capability and plenty of input/output connections to do just about any hookup. The sound is great.
Summary: Product is perfect for video applications. If you happen to be an audiophile, and enjoy listening to music, this is not the best for music. Does a wonderful job of enhancing videos. DVD's, regular TV channels, VHS tapes etc. all sound good, but modes are not available, and system is not specifically set up for music. Good product, just not quite what we were looking for.
Summary: I've had this system now for about a month and I can't imagine not having it! I wanted to hook my PS3 up to my LCD the best quality (HDMI) I could get without breaking the bank, and this HTIAB did the trick. I can only imagine that this isn't the best sounding system available, but if you aren't an audiophile like me, it's a great place to be in. For about $250 shipped, I have a nice setup I can watch TV, movies and my PS3 on.
Summary: I ordered this system for about $270, which I thought was a pretty good deal at the time. I actually tested a system that was similiar to this model at Fry's and it sounded good. After setting it up, I quickly realized that standing directly in front of it at the store with all the speakers grouped together, and setting it up at home with all the speakers spaced out did not produce nearly the same results. The lack of bass is what really disappointed me.
