Sony HT-CT770 Home Theater Soundbar

PC Magazine
11 July 2014
  • Conclusion: The Sony HT-CT770 is a thunderous-sounding soundbar thanks to its wireless subwoofer, but even with Bluetooth it's better with movies and games than it is with music.
  • Pros: Large, powerful sound field. Well-balanced with booming subwoofer. Excellent movie and video game audio. Built-in Bluetooth. Supports HDMI.
  • Cons: Music sounds tinny with soundbar turned down. No simulated surround features.

Sony HT-CT770 Review

2 June 2014
  • Conclusion: At $450, Sony’s new HW-CT770 may be a bit pricier than competing entry-level sound bars, but you get a lot for your money. The bar brings balance, detail, and power to your home theater, plus it offers a wealth of features often reserved for systems in the upper class. Sony may not be winning the consumer audio war as of yet, but when it comes to the battle for the best entry-level sound bar, the CT770 is a dangerous contender.
  • Pros: Impressive, detailed sound for the price, Wide stereo image, Loaded with features, Attractive design
  • Cons: Unit blocks TV remote in optimal sound position, Bass can get too boom-y
