Awesome system , un matched value, well exceeded my expectations
6 November 2014
Summary: Love this system...great sound quality at low volume or high. The wireless sub is the only way to go, and the price for this kind of sound quality is so low I feel like I stole it. Would have expected to pay twice the price once I heard it !! Really fills the room , hell the house ! , makes me feel like I'm sitting in the middle of a theater.
Summary: I don't care if this is the "old version" or lacks xyz feature...spent 3 months researching sound bars, surround sound systems, receivers, BR players, et al. My decade old, 1000 Watt JVC SS System finally bought the farm. After reading thousands of reviews and going to a dozen stores to listen in person, this item seemed to be the best option for 1) Multiple HDMI inputs, and 2) Excellent Surround Sound.
Summary: This little bar adds some MASSIVE sound to my tv. There is a posting on here that will give you some basic setup guidelines and I used that info. It will give you some good starting points. It is not that difficult to adjust once you play around a little bit, but follow the persons shortcut they posted to save you a ton of time by not reading the manual. LOL I did! I have to say it packs a HUGE punch and we dont even see it.
Summary: Powerful bass and clean highs. Probably best for a smaller room since you're only getting a sound bar and sub woofer, but power and sound are great. Good product from a reputable company. I'm pleased to say the least. I have this setup in my bedroom (20' X 20') and it sounds great. I only go up to 25% when I want it LOUD...
Sony HTCT550W 3D Sound Bar Home Theater System with Wireless Subwoofer
Coliwabl "coliwabl", Amazon
18 June 2013
Summary: Although the HTCT550W does not perform as well as my 7.1 surround system, it is not designed to do so. That said, it does exactly what I was expecting and maybe even a little more. Adjusting the base, treble, and subwoofer are easy. I did have some difficulty with the set up in order to make the Bravia Sync work properly but once the right connections were made, it was great. For anyone looking for a rather easy system to use for a small room like a den, etc.
Summary: I just bought this and installed it. I have to say I'm impressed, especially with the wireless sub. My wife was complaining not hearing clearly from the (Sony Bravia XBR6) TV's speakers. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: 1 - Receiver has many input options 2 - Because of 1, my setup was a breeze. My TV, PS3, and HTPC all hooked up to the receiver via HDMI. From open box to fully setup, less than 30 mins. 3 - The sub woofer goes behind the sofa in a corner.
Summary: Setup was pretty easy. Sound is really good. Don't buy this if you are expecting stellar 5.1 sound. Buy this if you want an excellent sounding tv that fills the room with full, clear, balanced sound. There are 3 components: subwoofer (1 power wire), soundbar (1 wire to router unit), and router unit (1 power cord, 1 wire to tv, and however many wires from input devices). The router unit will have to be close to the tv and various devices.
Summary: I spent months doing research on a home theater system before pulling the trigger on this sound bar system and I'm glad that I did. It took months for me to decide because I was skeptical about using a sound bar. I've only used true 5.1 channel HTS in the past, so I was very skeptical about the sound that this system can deliver.
Summary: Like most others I read the review from (LDB???) and applied the suggested settings and it sounded great. Out-of-the-box, this unit will sound hollow like a tin can. I hope if you read this review, you need to adjust the levels to bring out the full potential of this unit. If you can imagine, my new place has an open floor plan; like a big rectangle, one half is the kitchen; the other is the living room.
