Summary: I've owned this sound bar for quite a while and I've been very happy with it. The bar has been used in rooms of various sizes and shapes: Single sided open square shaped room about 12'x16' Hall shaped room about 25'x17' Single side open square shaped room about 10'x13' In all of these settings the sound has been more than adequate. Voices come across clearly via the sound bar distinct from the other sounds occurring in a scenes background.
Summary: I purchased this item after looking at it in a retail store which had it on display but was out of stock. It sounds good but the Sub Woofer is where the remote control has to interface and if the sub is on the floor you might not get your remote control to work unless you get in the line of sight of the Sub Woofer. We bought it for our bedroom and had to put the Sub on a small table to get it high enough to use the remote with ease.
Summary: We got a Sony LED LCD TV for our bedroom. I didn't want to go to the extent of a surround receiver and all the speakers to get better sound, but I certainly wanted better sound than the speakers in this incredibly thin TV provided. This speaker bar delivers! Periodically the communication is not sent from the TV to the speaker to turn on when I turn the TV on, and I can tell something is missing.
Summary: I have had this for about 7 months and enjoy it alot, Its a great sound bar but does not have surround sound capabilities, Its very user friendly and i like how easy it is for me to switch from dvd, blue ray, game systems by remote, Due to having 3 hdmi outputs, The bass is good depending on what your are using it for, But needs work on the treble, Works great but does not have the big home theater sound unless you crank it up to max, But don't expect the sound to surround...
Summary: I've been using this as a substitute for my TV speakers. It's a huge step up, and it's a good alternative for a surround sound system if you are limited on space. The sound comes through crystal clear with no static, even when it's silent. The bass is very strong, more than I was expecting. I use it for TV like I said, but it has so many inputs that I've got it connected to my Xbox 360 and Blu-Ray player as well.
Summary: I'm guessing this isn't going to win the sound quality competition from an audiophile, but it's easy to set up and the sound is pretty good. The only REALLY IRRITATING thing about this thing is that it times out and turns off automatically. I'll sometimes pause the DVD and go off to take a phone call and when I come back it's timed out and even when you turn it on, it defaults to TV instead of whatever you had it set to before. Other than that I have no complaints.
Summary: We purchased this and set it up with our 46" Bravia. We are very pleased. Previously my husband and I thought the dialogue when watching a movie was muffled even when we turned up the volume on the tv. This sound system helped a lot. Also listen to music cd's through the system. Awesome sound.
Summary: As many before me have written, this sound bar is NOT a replacement for a true 'surround sound' system. However, it does significantly improve the sound from your audio inputs (TV, DVD, Apple TV, etc.). I wouldn't describe the sound as 'rich,' but it offers much greater depth than the TV's speakers.
Summary: Moved to a new house with a different living room configuration and had to consider a "downgrade" from a 5.1 system with wires running around the house and the installation of said system. Did a lot of research and purchased this unit. Very impressed with sound quality and power output for such a simple system. Fills room with high-quality sound, and although not "true" surround sound...it's pretty close, especially if you are sitting directly in front of the TV.
Summary: I have been looking for a way to improve on the sound quality of my 65" Panny and had been turned off by Home Theater in a box system for a long time, until I caught a few reviews of this unit on CNet and Revision3/HD Nation. Bottom line the best of the best flat panel monitors have crappy speakers and I knew it all too well when I was trying to watch a movie or event and had to turn up the tv to 50 to get it loud enough but that added in distortion and popping from the...
