Summary: When I first hooked this up I thought it was great. Then I started having problems with the sound. At times, the sound does not work at all. I have to turn it off and turn the volume from the tv back on. Then later, it will work again. I get great sound with Apple TV but the sound on my regular TV is the same as it is without the bar, unless I turn it all the way up. Very disappointed with all the problems.
Pros: Setup was really easy - plugged everything in and it was working in minutes. The sub turned on and connected automatically. Also tried bluetooth with my iPhone: setup was easy - was playing wireless music from my phone in a matter of seconds.
Cons: The sub driver and its port are made of paper. The sub pops on medium volume! Maybe if you're in a 10' x 10' room and doing some easy listening this would be acceptable, but under average conditions the sub is completely disappointing.
Summary: I found out too late that you cannot control the volume using the TV remote (also Sony). I spoke to to their technical support but they had no suggestions. There are too many remotes cluttering the table.
Good quality system orphaned at birth by obsolete audio inputs...

Summary: The "Sony HTCT260 Sound Bar Home Theater System" is a bit of an oddity. It is also an orphan at birth. Why? Well, it is, for better or worse, a good answer to and an example of why the Sony Corporation is in such difficulties these days. Remember back, if you can, when Sony used to be Apple? Back in the 80s? The Walkman and Discman were the iPod and iPhone of their era. The products themselves were the innovations, and Sony was great at the details.
