DO NOT buy if you were planning on using bluetooth at all!

njk33, CNET
8 April 2014
  • Summary: My biggest issue with this sound bar is the bluetooth. My phone can't be more then 5-8 feet away before the sound starts cutting in and out in the most infuriating way. I returned the first one I bought just thinking it may have been a quality control issue but the second was just as bad.
  • Pros: Sounds great.
  • Cons: Bluetooth range is horrible and connections are limited

Sound cuts out on optical cable

Lynne E. Hewitt, Amazon
26 January 2014
  • Summary: Love the sound, ease of set up, and Bluetooth connectivity to my idevices. But the sound continually cuts out when watching tv. I've looked online and on Sony's website for answers and I see plenty of complaints like mine and no resolutions.

Works great but sound level is low

Thom Nash, Amazon
20 December 2013
  • Summary: Unit is easy to setup using the provided fiber optic cable. Sounds great but the level is low....even when max'd out....equivalent to the TV at half volume. Other issue it interfers with the cable/TV remote.....can't change sources (DVR to DVD back to DVR).

Not a techie so it may work better than we think it does.

Mari, Amazon
21 November 2013
  • Summary: It is ok. Sound is definitely better than from the TV itself, but not really crisp like we hoped. It is either too loud or too soft. Just can't seem to get it just right.

Performance far exceeds price- A no-brainer. (Read Chris K's review 4/13 and David Ceremuga's review 6/13)

Crackle McFancypants, Amazon
13 November 2013
  • Summary: Read the review by Chris K. from 4/13. The man knows what he's talking about and did way more research than I. And David Ceremuga's settings recommendation is TOTALLY right on. You may want to play w/ the bass and treble levels a bit based on your room, but DEFINITELY use the Music setting.

I never thought a sound bar could be this good!

tr0ntr0n21, Amazon
13 November 2013
  • Summary: I never thought a sound bar could be this good! I've recommended this to a number of people. I use it in my bedroom which is about 200 square feet and it sounds amazing. I have the sound bar and tv mounted directly to the wall and the subwoofer is next to my bed.

I was hesitant, but glad I joined the Sound Bar Revolution!

Ed, Amazon
7 November 2013
  • Summary: I was a bit hesitant about the soundbar revolution and the move away from 5.1 systems for many people—myself included. I did my research to the point that I was overwhelming myself (the usual process I take when investing in new electronics), so I decided to trust the other reviews and the general...

Very Disappointed.

Ben, Amazon
4 November 2013
  • Summary: Sony normally makes a fine product, but unless I got a Lemon this one is a dud. The overall look and finish is very nice, but the sound quality and functions are horrible. Just my two cents.

Sony > Polk, LG, Samsung, Boston A, etc.

David-Tipton, CNET
26 October 2013
  • Summary: I am one to do a LOT of research and testing before I buy an expensive electronic product, especially if I would like a product to last. A little background... I am a college student in my third year of engineering, I am a perfectionist, and I don't mind paying a little extra for a little more.
  • Pros: + Sound is clear, bass is more than enough, design is sleek and modern, + Bluetooth connectivity, + Quick set up
  • Cons: - Odd hexagon shape, a bit bulky in depth, - Only connections are optical , 3.5mm aux analog, coaxial, and bluetooth
