Summary: It's not the cheapest sound bar you can buy, and its sound quality falls short of what premium sound bars can deliver. But few competitors in its price class can deliver as good a balance of performance and features. The Yamaha YAS-101 (Est. $250) comes close, but it costs roughly the same and has weaker bass performance.
Pros: Excellent value, Built-in Bluetooth support, Deep, effective bass
Cons: Treble could be clearer, Average connectivity
Excerpt: A sound bar and subwoofer system is always a good buy for owners of an HDTV looking to add to their home entertainment system. For around $300, the Sony HT-CT260 performs very well with good sound quality, a wireless subwoofer and Bluetooth connectivity.
Pros: Good value, Built-in TV remote repeater, Bluetooth wireless connectivity, Very good sound quality
Cons: Unique design may not be liked by all, One-line display makes menus difficult to navigate
Sony HT-CT260 review: Excellent sound that fits nearly every living room

Summary: The Sony HT-CT260 is our go-to budget sound bar pick, with excellent sound quality, built-in Bluetooth, an adaptable design, and no major missteps.
Pros: The Sony HT-CT260 delivers excellent sound quality for a budget sound bar/subwoofer system. It has a distinctive, angular design, plus a built-in remote control signal repeater in case the sound bar blocks your TV's remote sensor. There's also integrated Bluetooth for wireless audio streaming from most smartphones and tablets.
Cons: Some similarly priced sound bars sound even better. And the hexagonal design may not be for everyone.
