Excerpt: This product has one of the quickest and easiest setups I've ever experienced for a system like this. The toughest part was snaking the bare ends of each of the separate speaker wires into the proper one of twelve sockets on the back. My next set of speakers will be Bluetooth for sure so that I no longer have to worry about speaker wires. But, other than that, everything else went like a dream.
Pros: Clear Sound, Easy To Set Up, Interfaces Well With TV, Thundering Bass
Summary: I found it easy to hook up to new t.v and cable. I am happy with the depth and quality of sound for a unit just under 100.00. Our previous system was alot louder, but it was now outdated in tech and was not compatable with our new t.v. So overall I would recommend it, Sony makes a reliable product, period!
Summary: We bought this to send to my wife's family in the Philippines. I recently upgraded our home theater projector to 1080p, so we will send the old 720p projector which still works fine. We chose this Sony 5.1 system to go along with it. I was surprised that ours didn't come in it's original box, but it did look brand new, just repackaged in Styrofoam. There was just a small scratch to the top of the main unit, from whoever packaged it. Not a big deal.
Summary: I had read previous reviews and noticed a lot of people complaining about the low volume, etc. They are right. This system is not designed to be a main large livingroom system... This system is designed to be strictly for bedrooms, dens, and small living spaces. We pur. yesterday when our 1000W system died, we were not ready to spend big money on a comparable system which would have meant spending at least $300-500.00.
