underpowered and no optical input, should be marketed as a computer speaker system not a home theater system
3 weeks ago
Summary: This product is sold as a "Home Theater System" but it does not have the output power for a home theater system. It only has analog audio L and R input jacks, no optical input. Optical input has been around for a long time.
Summary: At first the home theatre system was great then after about 2 weeks the back speakers stopped working and up to this day we still haven't figured out why and no word about them replacing it! Very disappointed!
Summary: Frustrating and useless. Tried for 10 hours on 2 different brand tvs. No sound on one tv. No cable on the bigger one. NO picture @ all. Spoke to Sony, Panasonic and 3 different people. Not ONE could make it work.
Summary: I had a RCA HTS for about 6 years. And it was great for the money. It also was not very expensive. I bought the Sony DAV-TZ140 and it work for about 1 year. Now it wont play DVDs. Talked to customer support and got no help. They told me the unit is out of warranty.
Useless without remote, and I'm not the only one who received an unusable electronics item without such a small bit of technolog

Summary: This unit is almost useless without a remote control. Friends have helped me set it up and I am quite knowledgeable about setting up sound and video systems. There is absolutely no way to use this DVD player without a remote control.
Save yourself the headache and spend a little more money to get something that will last you longer.

Summary: Had this unit for around 1 year. One night we were sitting in the den watching tv and heard a loud popping noise and some static. It was ok for a few more days then did it again and will not turn on. Further investigation revealed that 2 of the capacitors had blown off of the motherboard.
Summary: What a rip off. I suspect the system was defective because my HD Television (1/4 volume) is louder than this system at max volume. Only speaker that was somewhat loud was the center speaker. There was no booming, nothing. I will give it a five star for the DVD portion.
