Summary: I've had my system for more than a year. I was initially skeptical before I bought the system because of the extremely small size of the speakers. However, I discovered that the sound quality is great. The bass is deep, and midrange and treble are very clear and distinct. I actually think it sounds much better than the Bose system I have in my den. Movies look great with my Sony Bravia. Can't say much about the remote.
Summary: I have read many reviews about this system. The one common problem is the volume. There is a way to increase the volume to each speaker. Here are the steps: 1. The Sony system must be in DVD mode. 2. Press the DISPLAY button on the remote when DVD is not playing. 3. Choose SETUP (the red tool box) 4. Choose CUSTOM 5. Choose SPEAKER SETUP 6. Choose TEST TONE 7. Select ON.
Summary: Though it took a while for me to figure out how to get DVDs to play full screen (thanks to the other reviewer who mentioned about setting the screen resolution 1080!), I love this system. The tiny, discrete speakers give full, clear, robust sound for both music and DVDs. I purchased the system at Best Buy and had them install it, I find that the realistic sounds add so much to the movies and music sounds wonderful.
Summary: I looked at this system at local Costco couple of months ago. I liked it and it met my specs. But, one thing stopped me was the price. Then, last week, local Frys had listed it on sale for $300. I couldn't pass this up. And, I must say I was not disappointed. Installation was simple and easy. The speakers were tiny than I expected. They produce very good sound and fill the up living room.
Summary: im not sure what people are expecting in the power department from this micro system, i mean its a micro system for a reson, 1: you dont have enuff space to run anything over what the dac-is10 offers and two: your space is limited yet want high quality sound you get both in this system. easy to set up, blends well with a flat lcd/plasma, and the 720p/1080i feature is great for those peticular tv's, of course if you have a tv with 1080p, look into the dav-is50.
Pros: Attractive Design, Easy Controls, Easy To Set Up, Great Sound, Powerful
Summary: Of all the home theater systems I have owned, I am most impressed with this one. The speakers are very small, perfect for smaller rooms. But the sound is as good as much more expensive and larger systems. My only complaint is that it only has 1 optical input.
Pros: Clear Sound, Easy To Setup, Interfaces Well With TV
Summary: If you are looking for a compact home theater you should consider DAV-IS10. First of all the system provides a real surround despite the size. Second of all, it`s stylish and has a upscaler dvd player. The conexions: HDMI - I use the hdmi port with my Sony Bravia Optical input - I use with the PS3 RCA input - I use with airport (itunes) Remember it`s not a professional home theater, but if you want to save space and buy a system with nice features, good surround i think...
Summary: I was initially interested in this system for my office. I wanted not only to have a system for music, iPod and iTunes/Airtunes but to hook up to my Projector as I use this as a home theater area as well (office area here is about 600 square feet). The speakers are incredibly small, something I wanted as to keep the look of the office clean. I worried that they would be too small to produce good sound, boy was I wrong.
