The Sony DAV-HDX576WF is a Bravia home theater system featuring 5.1 channel surround sound, a 5-disc DVD/CD changer, iPod connectivity and wireless speaker technology. This system is the top-of-the-line in Sony’s HDX product range.

The 5.1 speaker system outputs a total of 1000 watts (RMS) of power. It is composed of a pair of front (right/left channel) speakers with tall stands, a center speaker, a dedicated subwoofer and a wireless rear speaker kit (WAHT-SA1) for the rear surround speakers. Also included is an AirStation speaker (AIR-SA10) that allows the user to bring the music with him to another room.

Other accessories include an IPod cradle (TDM-iP10), a universal infrared remote control and an auto calibration microphone.

With the microphone, setting up the speakers for optimal settings is made simple. The user places the microphone in his listening position and Sony’s Digital Cinema Auto Calibration system handles the rest.

The DAV-HDX576WF’s DVD/ CD changer can read the following disc types: CD, CD-R/RW, SACD, VCD, DVD, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW and Double Layer DVD+R. The player supports MP3 audio and JPEG photo playback. It also features progressive DVD scanning and multiple disc resume for up to 40 discs.

With an HDMI output port, the DAV-HDX576WF offers up-conversion of DVD movies to 1080p resolution. On the audio front, the system features built-in decoders for Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II and DTS. The system also offers the user to switch between optimal settings for music and movie modes.

Other features of the DAV-HDX576WF include Sony’s proprietary Digital Media Port, Portable Audio Enhancer and Bravia Sync technologies.

  • Color not very good

When playing a DVDE the color is not very vivid. Everything is mostly greenish yellow or blue, there really aren't any reds. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this. The color to the TV is great, just not when playing a DVD.

  • wireless internet integration?

Is there any chance Sony thought to allow this to pick up the wireless connection from my internet so that I can stream online radio (Pandora.com is awsome)? And I've gotten conflicting information - does the system have all surround sound speakers wireless (with a kit sold seperately)?
