Summary: Bought today and its going straight back. Trust me there are better systems out there that can handle sound from your tv ! Its just so bad a system, its beyond belief. It will work with your tv, but its not a simple connection. My advice is to get a system with optics.
Summary: i have an older dav260 . i highly recommend it. there is lots of good reviews of it on here and so you would think sony would only make it better. no they made it worse . i really cant understand some companies, but sony have taken the optical port out .
Summary: Like I said in the title this has no optical input whatsoever so if your buying this for the purpose of connecting your Xbox 360/PS3 (or anything else for that matter) your stuffed. I cannot understand why Sony has decided gimp this player by taking the optical connection out.
Summary: I went to buy the DAVDZ-260 from Argos, who seemed to be the only place stocking it but was presented with the DAVDZ-280. Great my wife said, the £250 version for only £147! Oh No I said, not so great, I don't want it! Why, my wife said?
Summary: Bought the Sony Bravia KDL40W5500U TV along with this as part of a package deal. Guess what. Doesn't work with the TV, and even better is NOT a Home Cinema System, its a DVD player with speakers that won't accept the TV as an input source! Not sure who thought up the name, but should be shot
High Quality But Useless As It Has No Inputs (WARNING)

Summary: The Sony Speakers and Subwoofer look fabulous, I love the piano black finish it goes so well with a Piano Black TV. However, this product is not worth buying unless you buy it just to have 5.1 Surround whilst watching DVD's and I will tell you why: Pro's: + High Quality Material + 850W Output + Good...
Summary: I walked into my local shop and took pity on the retailer and paid £20 more than the Amazon price. Unboxed the DZ280 Sony DAV-DZ 280 B schwarz last night and it works beautifully with DVD. The I-player connectivity and USB facility are real winners. BUT BEWARE.
