Summary: Likes - Sound quality - Nice features - Sony's quality Dislikes: - Too many wires - When you use iPod doc it freezes the access of it, we cannot access iPod directly rather we have to use the main unit's remote always and songs are played in alphabetical order rather it will not resume from where it stopped, this is bit frustrating
A generally good cinema system but some design flaws

Summary: My old denon av500 went bang and I was forced into a quick purchase of a replacement. What HiFi recommendations have not failed me so far so I purchased the Sony BNV-N590. Firstly the good. The sound is pretty OK for an all in one cinema system and the picture from even ordinary DVDs is fabulous. It found my Logitech squeezebox and streamed music perfectly. Unlike the Denon, the setup is easy and idiot proof.
Summary: Set up was easy and I'm very pleased with the product sound is excellent it looks good and the rear speakers work well I used HDMI to the TV and optical cable to my Tivo box some all my media is played the the system. One big problem for me was the length of the speaker cable my living room is not large but I had to extend 3 of the 4 cables that were supplied.
Summary: V good sound and audio but beware it only plays one region dvd and blu rays. You won't be able to play imports so your choices of films will be severely limited. If you like foreign films you'd be better off getting an all region player from somewhere else as amazon for some obscure reason only sell region 2.
Summary: I like the sound quality, it makes watching TV so much better, Blue ray films are brilliant on this system. The start up is a bit on the slow side, the TV picture comes on about 30 seconds before the sound which is a bit irritating. Also the menu's are a bit clunky and difficult to use if you need to type a request. Overall it's a nice system which could be improved with better software.
Summary: I won't go into all the specifications of this system as the first reviewer does this very well (although revised slightly by the third reviewer) This is not our first Surround Sound system but is much more stylish than the last. Having said that the Blu-Ray player itself is a strange shape - very like a PlayStation 3 but with a sort of dish/bowl shaped display/function panel added on the right-hand side which increases it size by 25% and as it is tilted back at about 75...
Good sound and clear pictures but Iphone/ipod functionality issues and slow internet services

Summary: I've always wanted a proper Cinema surround sound experience and this system delivers nicely. As can be seen in the product description pictures, the speakers are quite small however don't let that deceive you. They can pack a punch and there are 6 speakers in total (2 front, 2 back, one central and a subwoofer) with 125W per channel for the central and 4 surround speakers and 250W for the subwoofer.
Summary: Nice piece of kit, Sony at last producing good products again. Good looks, good software, good performance. No lip sync problems, (a dream compared with my defunct Samsung)easy menu and set up, Wifi also works well (provided you put all required files in Win media player). But and there's always a but), when using optical outlet from Sky box, it sometimes fails to sense a channel change and goes silent, switching off and on fixes it, or using channel up or down on the...
