Summary: The 1st one sent out broke after a week, the picture juddered!! Amazon were great and sent a replacement. So far so good, sound and picture great. Will be even better when I get a new monster 3d television!! But don't tell the wife!!! Only one niggle, I have it in a entertainment unit and was tricky to get the DVD player in and can't see the slot at the side, but I'll live! Great value for money with big noise and mint picture! Go on buy it!!!
Summary: Likes - Sound quality - Nice features - Sony's quality Dislikes: - Too many wires - When you use iPod doc it freezes the access of it, we cannot access iPod directly rather we have to use the main unit's remote always and songs are played in alphabetical order rather it will not resume from where it stopped, this is bit frustrating
Summary: You'd be forgiven for thinking the black plastic satellites were portable ipod speakers, but I suppose black plastic is not uncommon in a modern living room and fits in quite well for most. The subwoofer openings are positioned directly under the unit, aiming its rumblings directly at our neighbours below. Lucky for them, it hardly produces any. There's a fine line between a crisp, clear and clean sound, and a weak, tinny one.
A generally good cinema system but some design flaws

Summary: My old denon av500 went bang and I was forced into a quick purchase of a replacement. What HiFi recommendations have not failed me so far so I purchased the Sony BNV-N590. Firstly the good. The sound is pretty OK for an all in one cinema system and the picture from even ordinary DVDs is fabulous. It found my Logitech squeezebox and streamed music perfectly. Unlike the Denon, the setup is easy and idiot proof.
Summary: Quality is good enough but I did not appreciate how large the main unit was until I received it. Further space is then needed due to the side loading of the disc on the top of the machine. The space needed in the TV unit is considerable. My fault I should have checked this first! Device is quite noisy.
Summary: After reading several reviews I had big expectations for this system. Yes, the price is excellent for such a unit and there is great convenience in an 'all-in-one' system. It looks the business (although has a slightly weird design with a side loading disc tray) and both the unit and speakers look well finished. The Blue-ray player is excellent and the sound quality a massive step up from my TV speakers. But don't buy this product if you want to stream media through it.
Summary: Bought it for all those lovely HDMI connections in and out, which don't seem to work as advertised, but at least there's an optical audio, so all is not quite lost. The 3D stuff is a waste of time. Biggest disappointment is the sound, which is complicated to use and quiet. At low volume the sound lacks weight and at high volume lacks impact. It seems designed for use in very small rooms.
Summary: This system was bought to replace a separates system of Sony Blu-Ray and Pioneer surround. First off, the sound is better - music DVD's and Blu-Rays come alive. As for films - closest to being at the cinema I've heard! The opening of James Bond Quantum of Solace is enough of a reason to buy it - the car chase followed by that song - wow! The picture quality is much higher than the Sony it replaces (which wasn't that old!) with better upscaling of DVD's.
