Summary: I read the review on this product and many seem to share a common theme regarding a problematic S-Air device and unable to keep the devices paired. My concerns were eased reeading some of the feedback about pairing procedures. Also problems seemed to be isolated so I thought chances were slim it could happen to me as the devices are close together. After speding a hour on set-up (very simple), I fired up the unit and low and behold no sounds from rear speakers.
Summary: As delivered, the remote speaker amp will not link with the main amp to provide surround sound. The instructions are not clear about how to fix the problem but it may be interference from a wireless router signal, a common piece of equipment in the computer age. Although the remaining three front speaker work fine, I would not buy this poduct again, and don't recommend it.
Summary: Elegant small system for those who cannot hide cables for rear speakers. The video portion of the package is truly great, the upscaling on standard dvd is impressive and blu-ray is blu-ray. However, like many others, I absolutely could not get the rear speakers to pair with the main unit. 2 hours with tech support did not help, although they were quick to answer and did their best.
Summary: Setup and calibration of the system is a breeze. If you have used a psp or Playstation, then you will be familiar with the menu setup which is user friendly. No problems with the S-Air rear speakers. Sound quality is amazing for such tiny little speakers. Great for an apartment setup. The only problem I have run into (and the reason I did not give it 5 stars) is its inability to play Dvds that are from 20th Century Fox.
Summary: I purchased the Sony BDVIS1000 5.1Ch Blu-ray Disc/DVD Home Theater System and totally loved, so much I bought my parents one for xmas...Mine works great, theres on the other hand don't.The S-air will not connect no matter what I try..Mine I have in a closed cabinet with the wireless speakes 25 ft away and it works great, theres about 8 ft away?? I called Sony Tech support and they have no clue how to help...I even had support ask me if it was a Sony product.
Summary: As far as the blu ray picture/video is concerned, it is fantastic. I have a Sony KDL-40XBR7 TV which is a perfect compliment. The audio is reasonably good if your rear speakers work so that you can enjoy the whole package. The sound volume is kind of low though. Like everybody else, my rear speakers paired only after the following with intermittent results: 1. Turn the wireless router I had nearby off. 2. Reset the player from Resetting->All settings menu. 3.
