Summary: if you do not have the exact equipment listed in user manual, you cannot hook up this piece of junk. There is only two ways to hook it up, 1) Via a digital output via another device (ie a cable box, or 2) if your TV a has audio outputs.. These are the only way the HW-E350 Samsung is going to work.
Summary: This unit is what it is. A refurb that by inspection appears to be brand new. It has HDMI in & out and sounds good. This isn't a home theater system, but it enhances the sound of my flat screen. I had another brand that wasn't HDMI so the connection was through the sound card on my htpc.
Pros: HDMI pass through (i.e. In & Out)
Cons: Could be a little louder. At higher volumes there is static/popping. But with a little tweaking it sounds good.
Summary: I wanted a relatively simple setup to enhance my Samsung TV speakers. I didn't want to spend a lot of money so I got a refurb. I was disappointed in the sound, the lack of ports and the failing remote.
Cons: There are very limited ports on this. In my case, there was no optical input or HDMI. Further the remote did not work on the first one I got. Be aware that you cannot return this only exchange!
Summary: I'd recomment this sound bar for anyone looking for an inexpensive improvement over their TV's speakers.
Pros: I don't have much experience with sound bars. However, I was unhappy with the sound from my Samsung 32" Smart TV and was looking for an inexpensive sound bar to provide better quality sound. I was a little hesitant purchasing a refurbished one, but decided to take a chance. I was not disappointed...
Cons: I didn't find the sound leveling feature worked all that well, but to be honest, I haven't used it extensively, yet.
Summary: I have a Samsung HD TV that's about 3 years old. I bought a Samsung soundbar so that it would be compatible with my Samsung TV... it ISN'T! No firmware updates available for either the TV or the Soundbar to make them work together.
Summary: I was one of the reviewers who struggled with getting the soundbar to work properly with an HDMI connection to my TV. A comment by another reviewer here was instrumental in getting it to play well with my other equipment (a DirecTV HD box and a Samsung UN40F6400 TV). Here's how it worked for me: 1.
