Summary: I needed a sound bar with a wireless sub. This unit does a solid job. The sound took a little bit to get use to meaning that I had to find the right sound profile to match what I was viewing but I've grown to really enjoy this sound bar. This is huge step up from your tv's speakers. No doubt!
Summary: We have a 47 inch samsung hdtv and the soundbar is a big improvement over the tv speakers. The biggest reason we bought the HW-D550 was the wireless subwolfer. There are a couple of things we don't like.
Summary: I've had this for over a year now and it sounds good. I'm a producer and engineer with over two dozen album credits and a career in music that goes back to the 70s. I told my wife I wanted something that sounded good, wasn't obtrusive and was easy to work with (fewer remotes).
Summary: Is this soundbar better than the built in speakers in most TVs? Absolutely. The difference is obvious and a vast improvement over what the TV can produce. Does it produce the same sound quality as a full-blown 5.1 home theater system?
Summary: My question is can the Samsung Soundbar be used with the Direct TV Remote? I have a new Samsung 46" LED TV and the new Soundbar with various inputs. At the moment I can only control the soundbar with the soundbar remote.
Summary: The Samsung sound bar sounds great and with the wireless sub it works great. But there is a problem if you are using a remote for the cable company to try to control it. I spent many hr. with the cable company trying to get it to work and could not.
Summary: Punters could save themselves some grief if they would download the User Manual. [...] Like on page 3 " What's included" and on page 15 "HDMI cable - C type (small side) into HDMI C (ARC) out jack of product and then to TV".
Summary: I used a Samsung Sound Bar Mounting Bracket (ATB-10) which is made for LED Samsung TVs and just mod'ed it to fit my Series 5 46" Samsung (or whatever other TV brand you have as long as it has a point to mount on the back).
Pros: -Great sound in even in a larger apartment living room -Easy set up, works out of the box -ARC works perfectly (slight delay when using an HTPC that changes its output or display res, but picks it up in 10 sec)
Cons: The one MAJOR flaw in this that Samsung needs to fix is that when you are using AnyNet with a Samsung TV you can power both devices off using the same command, however, when you go to turn them on, the TV will turn on, but the sound bar will not. Its a well known issue that I got around using a T...
Summary: I had been looking for awhile for a sound system that I thought would meet my particular needs. I am in the situation where a lot people are when renting apartments. You want a good sound system, but you don't want to annoy the neighbors either.
