Summary: I'm not sure if my expectations were too high but the sound quality left me wanting a bit with this setup. The bass response is fairly weak. You can hardly hear the sub-woofer at lower volumes. It seems it needs to really be driven to get any sound out of it. The main speaker bar has several sound modes that work well but none really impressed. The best aspect of this product is how small and compact the speaker bar was.
Summary: ...and will not work with your Samsung TV remote control or your cable box remote control. Why on earth Samsung would design this product to NOT work with the Smart TV is an absolute mystery to me. I strongly recommend you keep looking.
Summary: The directions didn't seem too daunting, but as much as I tried I couldn't get the unit to work. It would come on and then quit, plus the remote speaker didn't come on at all. And for the 10 seconds that I was able to get it to work I realized that my TV was only 12 feet from the unit which is really not far enough from my seating, so the sound was overwhelming. But since the unit kept cutting out, that was a moot point. I finally gave up and returned the unit.
Summary: This model is the 2011 version of the HW-C450. I received it as a replacement when HW-C450 had the input changing problem(I won't go into that. It's well documented in the C450 reviews). The old sound bar used the Samsung TV volume signal from the remote to change the sound bar volume, meaning that all you needed to do was set your remote for a Samsung TV and the sound bar volume would change when you pushed the volume up /down buttons on your remote. Easy right?
