Summary: After about a year's very infrequent use the sound bar would display "PROT" immediately when turned on. It would then shut itself off. Samsung Service indicated that the unit was overheating. Since it can't be turned on its hard to imagine that it is overheating. The price for repair was a minimum of $160. This unit is a piece of garbage and Samsung is not standing behind it. I would not recommend it to anyone.
Summary: Worked almost for a year! And then all of a sudden it would turn down the volume by itself! It would turn off , or change uv setting all by itself as well all the time! Can't return because we didn't have this problem in the allotted return time!
Summary: I usually have good luck with refurbished unit. In fact; this was the first time I received a defective item. It is very cumbersome to repackage and ship back items such as rhis. I wish sellers did better quality control on their items before selling.
Summary: I ordered a refurbished unit. I unwrapped everything, hooked up the soundbar to the TV using the digital cable and followed the instructions to get the subwoofer to connect, but could not. The sound bar worked properly but, I couldn't get the subwoofer to connect. So I called Samsung and tried to get it to connect. We worked on it for a 1/2 hour. The subwoofer's blue connect light would flash as soon as it was plugged into the outlet.
Summary: Almost to the day of receiving, the sound bar developed a severe sync problem. The audio lagged 2 seconds behind, Samsungs answer, buy a new one. I did, a Polk. I originaly bought the Samsung because I have a Samsung tv. The soung quality no matter what setting was never very good. They put all these features in to cover up the lack of quality. The Polk has one setting, but oh boy what a diference in clarity, no matter what you are watching.
Summary: First off, the manual says there is supposed to be an optical cable and set of component cables included. Neither was included in my packaging. Just like many of the reviews all over the web, this product is a piece of junk. The input changes automatically between digital1, digital2, and analog. It turns itself off and on. The volume lowers and raises by itself. Samsung customer support regarding these known issues is terrible.
Like my grandpa used to say, "They don't make 'em like they used to."

Summary: Hooking this up is a breeze. I simply plugged the included optical cable right into the back of my Samsung TV and plugged the subwoofer into the back wall. The sound is decent for what it is, and does sound much better than my TV's built-in speakers. As long as you don't expect this to sound like a movie theater, you'll probably be satisfied with the improvement. But after only a few minutes of watching TV I noticed the sound drop out for a half of a second or so.
Summary: I purchased this sound bar to go with our Samsung 46" TV. I read the reviews here, and saw the responses from some people who had issue where the sound bar automatically switching between INPUT1 and INPUT2, causing the sound to go out. Since this was a relatively small # of reviews, I decided to purchase and hope for the best.
Summary: I purchased this sound system as a family Christmas present. I have been impressed by Samsung in the past (I have a TV and blue-ray player that are both Samsung products) but I would not buy the Speaker system again. I've spent 8 total hours on the phone with Samsung Customer support, Time Warner Cable customer support and I have sent the subwoofer in to be repaired-it doesn't work.
