Summary: After about a year's very infrequent use the sound bar would display "PROT" immediately when turned on. It would then shut itself off. Samsung Service indicated that the unit was overheating. Since it can't be turned on its hard to imagine that it is overheating. The price for repair was a minimum of $160. This unit is a piece of garbage and Samsung is not standing behind it. I would not recommend it to anyone.
Summary: I've had this for about a week and so far. The sound quality is really good, much better than the built in speakers on my LED/LCD, and it looks pretty good to, I like the exposed speaker look. I purchased a factory refurbished unit which feels a little risky but have had luck with other companies.
Summary: Product works as expected. Not surround, but does fill a room with pretty rich sound. Would be nice to have adjustments, as in an equalizer, instead of the pre-determined sound settings. Sub-woofer could be a little more prominant as well. Bought it refurbished, would not pay full price. Input does switch to digital 2 from time to time as described in previous reviews, Not that big of deal to me.
Summary: Worked almost for a year! And then all of a sudden it would turn down the volume by itself! It would turn off , or change uv setting all by itself as well all the time! Can't return because we didn't have this problem in the allotted return time!
Summary: I usually have good luck with refurbished unit. In fact; this was the first time I received a defective item. It is very cumbersome to repackage and ship back items such as rhis. I wish sellers did better quality control on their items before selling.
Summary: To misquote the top reviewer of this product: "Ok let's start by telling you, that I [am] just some guy doing a review." I didn't compare a lot of soundbars. I got this to increase the volume of our too-quiet 42" Panasonic LCD TV in our living room. With all the commotion of the adjacent kitchen and family activities you could not sufficiently hear Sponge Bob, Phineas & Ferb, or any of the other _quality_ programs that were on.
Summary: There's a lot to like about this product. The set-up was easy. I connected it to my TV through an optical cable, and didn't have any trouble with audio syncing or anything like that. The sound that comes out of this product is really great. It gets extremely loud, with loads of bass. It pumps out more than enough high-quality sound for most room set-ups. The biggest problem I encountered was reliability.
Summary: I ordered a refurbished unit. I unwrapped everything, hooked up the soundbar to the TV using the digital cable and followed the instructions to get the subwoofer to connect, but could not. The sound bar worked properly but, I couldn't get the subwoofer to connect. So I called Samsung and tried to get it to connect. We worked on it for a 1/2 hour. The subwoofer's blue connect light would flash as soon as it was plugged into the outlet.
Summary: This set up give a nice compliment to my two rear speaker set up. I needed some head-on sound from my TV,(after disabling the TV speakers)without getting into an expensive system. The wireless Sub fills in the lows nicely to give a good surround feel to my movies, and it looks nice with my Samsung 42" LCD flat-screen. Iv'e had this for a year now and no regrets. Recommended!!
