Summary: garbage. hate it. worst ive ever gotten before, and it makes me sad considering i love samsung. this model, the speakers are garbage, shitty quality if you know what real quality is. doesnt play dvd's only cds. but apparently its a real common thing on this model for it to happen, and from other reviews ive read, samsung doesnt do anything about it to fix the problem.
Summary: I have had this home theater system for over 3 years. The DVD player never really worked well from the beginning and after a year or so it got to the point where it didn't play any DVDs. I took the dvd/receiver apart and looked for a part number on the dvd portion of the receiver - went to the Parts Store on bestbuy.com - searched the part number and ordered the part to replace the dvd unit.
Summary: i bought this unit as a replacement for my bose and i honestly believe this unit works and plays almost as great as my Bose..I know it sounds crazy but this thing is great and worth the small price i paid.
Summary: This surround sound system was pretty awesome at first, but now I want to throw it out the window. I've had it for about a year and it has just gotten more annoying as time goes on. It is very easy to set up, but I can't believe the quality of it for the price. Actually, I can, because it's Samsung and that's what all their products are; overpriced and horribly made.
Summary: Purchased this Surround Sound system about one year ago...okay for about 6 months then nothing but trouble. Sound is average at best. But the DVD player is awful! Can take a brand new disc out of the case and it skips, freezes, gives pixel-ated images. Very picky and unpredictable. Occasionally it will go through an entire movie and be okay, but not often. More trouble that it's worth.
Summary: As pretty much everyone else has said, this home theater system is not worth the price. The rear back (surround) speaker blew after a few months of usage. I used it to play Call of Duty on the PS3 and it did, indeed, sound pretty good for a bit. But only after 4 months the speaker blew out. The annoying "blown out" crackling sound is all that comes from it now.
Summary: The home theater from Samsung is a good quality system. It has all the basic features. Nothing too fancy, just a good solid system. The bad thing about this purchase was buying from Capital Outlet. Nothing in the ad said the product was a demo or return. The ad leaves you to believe that the product is brand new. It arrived in a box slightly bigger than the orignal box with no padding.
Summary: At first I was a little hesitant when it came to buying refurbished equipment, but I have to say... this sound system was perfect for me. I don't use surround sound all that often, but when I do, I want to have something that sounds good. This system is definitely worth what I paid for it and more! In addition to the product, the company I purchased this equiopment from was very helpful.
Summary: I purchased this unit in July of 2009. It was a birthday/graduation gift for my husband. He had had the same surround sound unit since he returned from his first deployment in 2003. After he came home he decided to go to school to become a firefighter and a paramedic. Upon finishing school I wanted to do something nice for him and purchased him a new unit after doing some online research... WORST MISTAKE EVER!!!
Summary: We bought Samsung's home theater system. It worked reasonably well for a very short while, before the receiver suffered a debilitating hardware fault. Samsung accepted that the unit was defective and repaired it. Eighteen months later, the issue rematerialized, but Samsung refused to re-correct it - irrespective of the fact that their repair job didn't last.
