Trouble prone and did not last

P. West "phywest", Amazon
10 April 2011
  • Summary: I DID NOT BUY this product from Amazon, but after only two years, I am looking for it's replacement on Amazon. The part of the DVD player that loads and ejects DVDs has bee problematic for a few months and has finally quit working. Got a DVD stuck in it right now. The concept of this device was what I was after: an easy to install device, that took up one shelf. Something that would play a DVD and augment my Toshiba TV's kind of tinny sound system. (I love my TV though.

What a Let Down!

Craig Smith "Craig", Amazon
16 July 2010
  • Summary: The optical cable is not the best technology. Every time a scene changes or a commercial ends or begins, the sound temporarily cuts out. After just six months of use, the door on the dvd/cd player does not close. The sub woofer is unreliable. Sometimes it doesn't pick up a signal. Then I have to turn it off and on or unplug it and try again. Too much bass that cannot be controlled. Sounds ok for music, but often dialogue is difficult to understand. Try another solution.

Samsung HT-X810 has DVD playback problems

G. Crosby, Amazon
27 March 2010
  • Summary: Purchased Samsung HT-X810 little over a year ago. We primarily used the unit for the surround sound and never watched any DVD's. When we tried to watch a DVD, the DVD picture would just freeze and when it resumed it would have skipped forward. I first thought it was the DVD's but then realized that it also would occur with brand new DVD's. Tried to watch a new DVD last night but it kept freezing ever 10-15 minutes. We gave up on watching it, much too frustrating.

Some Good Qualities and Some Bad Ones

Mark R. Sherman, Amazon
25 January 2010
  • Summary: I have owned this unit for just about a month now and like everything in electronics it has some good features and some bad. I have this connected to a Sony LCD KDL-52W5150 via HDMI with a digital output cable routing the TV sound back to the unit. Most of the good points have been covered in other customer reviews but the best are: Integrated CD/DVD player plays both DTS Surround and DVD-Audio disks (but not SACD) and it will up convert your standard DVDs; wireless...

Great...when it works

I. Moore, Amazon
17 June 2009
  • Summary: I've had this product for a little less than a year. When it's working, it's fantastic. It pairs well with my 46" Samsung TV, the sound quality is clear, controls are intuitive, and the subwoofer is really impressive. I bought it for its small footprint. Since I live in an apartment I didn't want to have to permanently mount speakers for a more traditional setup. No complaints on the audio or the video.
