This all-in-one system is sleek looking, powerful and technically advanced. So is the price. The Samsung HT-X810 was one of the coolest soundbars announced at CES 2008, mostly because of the 5.8GHz wireless subwoofer. That plus Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port, HDMI output, and an on-board DVD/CD player put it ahead of most competitors, and the glossy black styling matches Samsung’s HDTV line (especially our 40-incher) perfectly. I DID NOT BUY this product from Amazon, but after only two years, I am looking for it's replacement on Amazon. The part of the DVD player that loads and ejects DVDs has bee problematic for a few months and has finally quit working. Got a DVD stuck in it right now. The concept of this device was what I was after: an easy to install device, that took up one shelf. Something that would play a DVD and augment my Toshiba TV's kind of tinny sound system. Read more
It is a fine device, only problem is that the sound is good enough for home theatre but not so great for anything else. It connects to everything on bluetooth which is great to listen to pandora and other internet radio, but again the quality is not going to be super or audiophile by any means. I installed a music player program to my android phone that has its own equalizer and then the sound was improved like 10X! Read more
This unit has ridiculous amount of uncontrolled, boomy bass from wireless subwoofer. It is fine when watching movies but drastically degrades CD playback and radio experience. If you want to buy this unit as a versatile DVD & CD player, look elsewhere. Read more
This is a great piece of hardware. I wish we were able to figure out how to hook up the game systems to this thing - we are a little challenged in this area. However, we were blown away by the sound quality. Watching a movie is a brand new experience. Read more
[...]Opened it up and had it all connected and working perfectly in 15 minutes to Samsung 46" LCD TV. Has anyone experienced intermittent sound loss or distortion? This has happened both on DVD playback and on Satlite signal. I played the DVD's in question on a different surround system I have and have had no issues.
