Summary: I have had this unit for 5 years and it is still running great. The 1200 watts and big subwoofer really pound. People are always super impressed. Not to mention the tower speaker look awesome. I haven't had any issues that others have mentioned. The Dynamic Range Compression can be used to increase the volume of voices when watching movies at a low volume. Works really well. It also has an HDMI in and out which alot these systems don't.
Summary: We purchased this product in March 2008. In November of 2009 the machine kept shutting off and eventually started smoking. We found that other people complained about the same problem. We contacted Samsung and all they offered was to pay for the parts (about $5 worth) but we would be responsible for the labor ($160). We decided to put the $160 toward a more reliable product like Sony. This is the first and last time we ever buy Samsung.
Summary: I purchased this product less than 6 months ago. It recently began shutting off about 30 minutes into a movie. If I attempted to restart it would simply shut down again within a few minutes. Researching the issue on the internet I found MANY other people who had a similar issue. It appears that the system is overheating.
DANGER -COMMMON OVERHEATING ISSUES - FAN FAILURE - SHOULD BE RECALLED AND ADDRESSED BY SAMSUNG

Summary: I really enjoyed the simplicity, ease of set up and many options this all in one DVD home theater system offered. I set this up in a entertainment system unit that held my xbox 360, 42" LCD TV, cable modem, ipod etc. The system sounds great for the size room and has low and high end response from the speaker system. It is not audiophile grade, but for the home user it is more than sufficient for movies, high definition programing, gaming, etc.
Summary: A little hard to operate but when you get it down it is Better then Nice. you can even add dvds to the system (5 DVD Changer) during viewing of a dvd. the sound is quite load. and the police will not like it. 5 min of cranking it out I had 3 cops at my door.
Summary: Won't buy anything on ebay ever!!! From now on I will go to local electronic stores where I am sure if the product is ruined I can always return it or exchange it. I bought this item last year and I ended up only with speakers because the receiver was defected and pretty much looked like a MERDA. Now I am looking to buy the same receiver or one that works with these speakers. My intention was to save about 200 dollars by buying this home theater on ebay.
Summary: For the money it is a good system, our room is about 14 x 20, our movie are definately more enjoyable. It has on a few occasion locked in the open position when loading cd's, nothing major. Nice looking system.
Summary: When the system was 1st set up, a hissing sound was observed in the front 2 speakers, even after all connections were double checked. Front and back speaker wires were switched and the hissing moved to the back speakers. Several DVD's, that played OK in other players, resulted in very poor picture and sound quality, i.e. picture and sound kept breaking up. This continued to occur even after the DVD's were cleaned.
Summary: I love this unit. Other than a small glitch that causes me to have to turn it off and on sometimes when switching between HDMI and regular channels this is a great unit. Good sound at low decibal and nice solid bass filled when cranked. Excellent for an avereage sized living room.
Summary: I was fairly happy with this product until it died after having owned it for about 10 months. At first, I noticed that the fan stopped working, and then the unit would shut down by itself 5 minutes after turning it on. I opened it out of curiosity and noticed a capacitor had burned inside (looked like popcorn). Not sure what to think of a product that died so quickly. Maybe it's just an isolate incident but I guess it's still worth sharing. Good luck!
