thought the sound was thin

James C. Moore, Amazon
22 April 2014
  • Summary: I purchased this because it was the same brand as my TV and other reviewers had said it was a full sound. I KNOW what full sound is supposed to be and this system does not produce it. Also, the receiver is not a standard 8 ohm impedence so you can't just switch out speakers. I think this system is is perhaps and upgrade from the stock TV sound, but if you want good sound, you need to aim higher.

Frustrated with this system

Thomas Petruzelli, Amazon
6 December 2013
  • Summary: After repeated calls to Samsung seeking tech support, I have finally given up. If you can get this system to operate after turning it on instead of getting a blue screen telling you that the HDV connection is blocked, it sounds OK. The only way I can get this thing to work is to turn it on, go through a litany of TV selections , then pull out the Control box and remove and reinsert the HDMI output cable.

If you never ever watch Netflix this is a fantastic product!

Dan S., Amazon
21 September 2013
  • Summary: No matter how fantastic a product is, one little flaw can ruin it. The fly in the ointment on this otherwise terrific product is it's inability to remain connected to Netflix. Then once it loses it's connection, the only way to get it back it to power down the unit, then bring it back up, scroll through the menus, verify a good WiFi connection then pick up on the show you were watching after a 2 minute or so, unscheduled break. Not a fun viewing experience.

not actually wireless

Melanie W, Amazon
15 June 2013
  • Summary: The product description implies that the rear speakers are wireless. However they are not. They are wired to a hub that is wireless. So, yes you do not have to run a wire from the front of the room to the back of the room. But you still have to have the speakers wired to something, which is what I was trying to avoid. There is nothing in the product description (at the time I bought this) to make this clear to me.

Too Many Issues to Overlook

Everydaynormalguy, ABT Electronics
13 June 2013
  • Summary: Many interface and sound issues. 1st: Samsung, this is not a blue ray player, it is a home theater system. Do not default to blue ray and make me wait to change inputs while the device figures out that I do not have a disk loaded. 2nd: Sound Quality: A: Unit can be turned up to 50. Any volume level beyond 30 the front speaker crackles (no matter the input device and mostly out of the center speaker).
  • Pros: Inexpensive, Lightweight
  • Cons: Did not meet expectations, Poor quality
