Summary: After repeated calls to Samsung seeking tech support, I have finally given up. If you can get this system to operate after turning it on instead of getting a blue screen telling you that the HDV connection is blocked, it sounds OK. The only way I can get this thing to work is to turn it on, go through a litany of TV selections , then pull out the Control box and remove and reinsert the HDMI output cable.
Summary: Great sound for a decent price. This is my second Samsung home theatre. Although the wireless speakers are true wifi(the surround speakers have to still be connected to the wifi box) it's still cool. Easy to setup and the All Share software is good if you want to stream from a pc.
Summary: Sky's the limit with bluetooth and wifi connectivity. That was the biggest draw for me along with decent to above average sound quality. You're not going to find professional sound with this unit, that's why it's a HTIB. Stick with components if that's what you're looking for. Wifi and bluetooth has worked flawlessly, no dropped connections. Others have complained about having to switch through sources, I didn't find that to be a big deal for my basic usage.
Pros: Apps, Bluetooth Connectivity, Clear Sound, Easy To Set Up, Interfaces Well With TV, Intuitive Controls
Summary: This system was easy to connect, our direct tv plugs right in via an optical cable, and the sound is beautiful! Only gripe is more software related. The way Samsung has programmed the user interface with apps is a little funny, but it's easy to use, just wish pandora layout was different and that you could multitask, example cue up a movie while pandora is still playing. But you can only use one thing at a time. We are keeping!
Summary: This system is the perfect match to my Samsung 60 inch LED tv. I chose the wired speakers because i believe it a better choice over wireless if you want the best quality sound. Why spend the money for a big screen TV and pair it with a lessor quality sound system.
Summary: For two years I had been without a surround sound, so after careful research I decided on the Bose® CineMate® GS Series II home theatre. I have never been more disappointed in a $600 investment than after I set this up. I returned the Bose system and left with this Samsung surround sound, since I had previously owned a Samsung system and was satisfied with it. \L\LThe Samsung system is an amazement to listen too.
Weak performer, over-priced with a pitiful bass woofer and center channel speakers
J. Lawrence Associates, Amazon
19 November 2013
Summary: It would be ok for an apartment but it's weak for a home. We replaced the pitiful Samsung passive bass woofer with a Pioneer active bass woofer ($99) and the front center speaker with a decent one ($89) instead of the poor one they packaged into the original design, and now it is acceptable for a home surround sound. I cannot recommend the product as originally shipped to us.
