Great sound, stylish design, great value for the money
3 June 2014
Summary: Pros : Crisp, clear sound, great beat, neat stylish design. Plays all the video/audio formats I've come across. The player takes care of all updates without user intervention. Cons : Had a hard time figuring out how to get the surround sound to work as the rear speakers are disabled by default.
No AM radio? This is a bedroom system and not worthy of my movie room....

Summary: Is it that hard these days to have AM radio? I want to hear local sports on AM but no luck on a surround system. I just think if am upgrading from an old analog Harmon Kardon system that cost me $2k when I was in college, you would think 22 years of technology would be able to keep the basics. Otherwise for the price, I would have given this 5 stars.
Summary: Fine product, exceded my expectations. FM tuner is a bit weak, but that is not why I chose this item. Did not have a manual, and supplier has of this date supplier has failed to send me one after saying they would. It has been tough figuring out all the features. Home theater great, supplier Iffy.
Summary: I love it in so many ways sound and the fact you can make it wireless in the back but reason for 4 vs 5 is that they all freeze at times I would say 1 in 3 times of use and there is no fix,,,,Samsung great for high tech but not always best for reliability sound is amazing when paired to energy speakers trust me you don't have to spend a lot to have a hifi!!!!
Summary: Good sounds works great. Easy to configure and adjust sound. Two draw back. Subwoofer is not self powered but powered by the receiver. Needs more hdmi inputs or optical audio inputs. Had to buy an optical splitter since I was also adding my playstation to the receiver.
Summary: I have my HT-D5500 for a year or so and it works and sounds awesome. I love the system minus the fact that I have to switch to composite input to view ipod video and that it has zero HDMI inputs. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this system.
Summary: The reason I choose this system is because of it's features like sound effects, crispy clear sound, and the variety of video files that it support unlike sony players that only support avi and mp4. Most of the electronics that we own are sony made 3 bravia TV, 2 PS3, 3 PSP, 2 digital camera, 2 video camera, a laptop, a desktop, a portable dvd player 2 boombox, 2 bookshelves mini component, 2 DVD player, and a blu-ray player and most of the earphones and headset we used...
Summary: I bought this system in early Feb. 2012 and I have been very happy with it so far. First, this is a very easy system to get up and running. I have set tons of home theater systems up and this is one is made for setup by an absolute beginner. Included in the system is a littler speaker with a very long cord that enables you to place the speaker where you will be sitting and then the system can go through a series of sound checks to calibrate all of the speakers.
Summary: Instructions are very good, and set up easy. Samsung offers easy direct contact for help if needed. Sound is very good and integrates well with new Vizio TV. Purchased as recommended and reviewed by Consumer Reports.
