Unrelaible

Eugene Nine, Amazon
4 February 2013
  • Summary: We received one of these as a replacement for our 1200 that Samsung could never fix. The sound isn't quite as good as the 1200 it replaced and this one had turned out to be troublesome as well. The biggest issue is the lockup, usually while watching Netflix but thats just because we use Netflix the most. It might run 5 minutes then freeze or three shows and then freeze up. Once it does you have to power off and back on to get it going again.

Good if you want to spend additional money ( 200 plus )

xchippie, Ebay
25 February 2011
  • Summary: Don't be fooled by the listings or ads. This unit IS NOT wireless. If that is what you want look else where. It is wireless capable but plan on another 125 plus for the accessories, and then only the rear speakers are wireless. It is wifi capable but that will cost you 82.99 from samsung plus shipping, for the correct usb adapter. I would have been better off to have spent initial money on a complete total wireless system with internet capabilities built in for wifi.

Needs some quality control

WorkingGuy, Amazon
18 August 2010
  • Summary: I just returned my system after 1 day of use. The console produced a crackling sound out of the left front speaker and within a couple minutes would turn off all sound while playing a Blu-Ray. This error was repeated using different speakers on the same signal. I'm not interested in wasting any time with tech support. It either works straight out of the box or it doesn't. That's what Quality Control gets paid for.

Nice hardware, terrible software

B3n S6z, Amazon
27 July 2010
  • Summary: It's a nice form factor, looks great, and would be just what I want if it would only work. I had to connect to the internet and let it upgrade itself before it would even play DVDs. I could select chapters in the menu, but not play them! It doesn't actually do half of what it is supposed to do. It detects my iTunes server, but says "unsupported format", even though the user manual says MP3 is supported. So much for that.

Only Fair

Mr. A. H. Roberts "TonyR", Amazon
27 April 2011
  • Summary: Using Blu-ray DVD's we cannot yet really enjoy the sound from this system. Everything tends to sound very booomy, even with sub-woofer 'socked' and set down -6db in set-up. Action scenes and catastrophe stories get plenty of effects and good rear speaker background effects, but actual dialogue is (to us) - poor with little sharpness or higher frequency. Music fidelity is better but not so nice as the 25 CD player I took down to the skip-site!.

Not for Music fans

David G, Amazon
10 February 2011
  • Summary: My main use for this system was to replace my old hi-fi system which I ditched in 2005. I was not expecting brilliant hi-fi sound quality from the Samsung but I thought it would be adequate for playing music from my Sony MP3 player, CD's and MP3 discs. Unfortunately this is not the case; the sound quality when playing music is dreadful. The bass from the sub woofer is overpowering woolly and totally uncontrolled. The mid range and treble response is also very poor.

No iPlayer as advertised.

Duncan, Amazon
10 December 2010
  • Summary: From the above Amazon product specficiation: 'Enjoy internet content on your TV (including BBC iPlayer)' But there is no iPlayer on the box, and when you call Samsung customer support in the UK 0845-SAMSUNG they will tell you that it is 'coming soon'. From message boards on the Internet, I see that it has been coming soon since January 2010. What a con. Similarly LoveFilm is also 'coming soon' to this player.
