Excerpt: My other half loves gadgets and electrical items and so he decided a while ago that we needed a home theatre system to accompany our television to improve the sound quality. As the main television in the home is Samsung, we decided to get a Samsung system to go with it. I left the purchasing decision to my partner and he opted for the Samsung HTC-450.
Pros: Good system which creates a great atmosphere on sporting events/films
Summary: I needed a new 5.1 surround sound system, as my previous one was dated and one of the speakers had stopped working! After looking at many reviews for other systems, I came across this one which was within my price range. Having read all of the reviews on here (mostly positive!) I decided to go for this one. As others have said, try to set it up as the manual explains, you will notice the difference in sound quality.
Summary: I bought this to match with my Samsung LCD TV so it all looks nice together. 5.1 sound is nice, crisp and clear although you may be able to hear some Bass 'hiss' when it's not in full Dolby 5.1 mode. This doesn't bother me as you don't hear it normally anyway. As the system's volume is turned up, the quality remains at loud volumes. The box arrived and was very well packaged as would be hoped from a major manufacturer.
Summary: Looks wise its awesome but catches dust very easily. Sound Wise a little bit boomy but there are EQ presets like Jazz, Pops, Rock and Bass can also be turned on or off. When in Dolby Prologic mode none of these settings work. Sometimes I want to push the volume a little bit up when its already displaying MaxVolume. Volume should be enough as long as you don't want to disturb the neighbors.
Excerpt: After buying a new HD TV, we decided it was time to upgrade our DVD player to something a little more fancy. There wasn’t actually anything wrong with the DVD player, but we really wanted to go for something with surround sound and possibly a better picture. Looking on the internet, it seemed there were two main choices available, we could go down the expensive route of a Blu-Ray player or the considerably cheaper upscaling DVD.
Pros: Ease of use, improved picture quality, great sound quality, extra features
Excerpt: At first when purchasing this product I was not sure if I should get it because home theatres can look so good, but once switched on they sound awful and distort at high volumes. The main reason for purchasing this product was to get clear high and low sounds with great bass and surround. As I installed the product it had a very easy to follow instruction manual and explained every feature and cable in great detail.
Summary: I have been looking for a good value home cinema system for sometime now as i have been listening to my TV through an old Hi-Fi system. I read the reviews on this system and bought it 3 weeks ago and i must say i am not disappointed. The whole system takes about 20mins to set up and get the speakers to where you want to be, and with another review there is plenty of speaker wire to stretch accros a medium size room.
