DESIGN FLAWS

Overstock
22 April 2010
  • Summary: This product does have good sound, but I'm returning because of 2 majorly annoying flaws in the design: 1. You can't watch TV while listening to your iPod. So forget about watching the game while playing music. 2. Inputs automatically reset everytime you turn it off. For me to watch TV, I have to have it on the HDMI setting. Yet, when I turn on the receiver, it defaults to the TV setting and I have to change it every time.

Didn't work well with my other Samsung Anynet devices

Gater, Amazon
3 March 2010
  • Summary: I was very excited to complete my home theater system with this item. I already had the Samsung Plasma and Samsung Blu Ray. For the most part it was very clunky to use and beside the volume, the anynet thing didnt work well together...I had to consistantly change the input back to SAT from TV (which is the antenna input) It seems like a great system, but it simply is not.

Bargain buy

  • Summary: This is entry-level audio equipment. The further you turn it up, the more distortion you'll notice; I especially noticed it in the dialog frequencies, and there's no "punch" to the bass which leaves a lackluster performance for cannon battles or other cinematic explosions. My biggest disappointment, however, has to be the fact that this unit does NO video conversion common on most component systems, and doesn't have any on-screen display for menus/setup.

Could have been so much better

A. Jay Hunter "Nerd", Amazon
3 August 2009
  • Summary: I bought this because I have all Samsung equipment. I didn't want to spend a lot of money because I have kids that can break stuff. And this unit had everything I wanted 3 HDMI inputs, Anynet+, and a powered Subwoofer. I am not a music elitist, so this thing sounds pretty good to me. Not so good from the ipod but good enough, and when watching movies, its perfect with the 52" Samsung Plasma. But there are a few issues that make this less than enjoyable. 1.
