Summary: My family really enjoys this theater system. The past two systems we have bought, were self contained systems that had the speakers, dvd player, and amplifier all built in together. The problem is, when the dvd player stopped working, the whole system became useless. Now we no longer have that problem. And this is LOUD. Most home theater system in a box usually have around 100-300 watts of power. Make that jump to 1000 watts and you notice the difference.
"Best 5.1 system I could find for under $200, only $159"

Pros: 1. Easy installation 2. Many settings to customize to your home 3. Gets plenty loud (if setup properly) 4. Good sound quality (NOT AUDIOPHILE QUALITY, remember this isn't a $1,000+ setup)
Cons: 1.Speakers will not handle the power at 90% and up power 2.Speaker quality could be better, only single ~3" full range speaker in each satellite. In my research, some users purchased better bookshelf speakers and are getting better results these
Pay attention people. Great system if you pay attention

Summary: OK, I didn't quite get it from here, but Target had it for 160, and the reviews I read were from here as it was the only place I could find reviews for this system. I was skeptical when people were complaining about the sound and how loud it wasn't and that they were saying no way this system is 1000W.... well... 1. The system is great for the price, and sounds amazing. 2. OF COURSE IT'S NOT 1000W...
Summary: i bought this system at walmart for 150$ two years ago. i used the original speakers for about 6 months before i decided they sucked bad haha. i upgraded to four 250 watt rms tower speakers for the front and back with two 75 watt rms speakers wired together for a mean center channel. i actually am still using the original subwoofer because its actually half decent.
Amazing sound for the price - & 3 years still running strong

Summary: I'm actually writing this review after replacing this unit with the highly praised Vizio VHT510 soundbar. I replaced this unit with the Vizio becuase I really didn't have anywhere good to put the receiver for this system in my living room, nor did I have a good solution to running speaker wires from it to the rears without having the wire showing in my living room. The Vizio is a good compromise between style & quality so it works better for my living room.
Summary: For this price range, I think it is an excellent product. I bought this RCA audio receiver to replace my old one which didn't have digital optical input. It is becasue my new TV doesn't have any audio output except the digital optical output. And the sound from the TV itself is poor, lack of bass. So, I wanted to have better sound, but I don't want to spend whole lot of $$$. I picked this RCA mainly for its price, eventhough its reviews are mixed.
Summary: My wife and I bought this system to go along with our Wii, Vizio blu-ray player, and HDTV. We started hooking it up and it was pretty easy to install. When we were finished we turned it on and we were pretty impressed with the quality of the sound. Sometimes there were places in movies and TV shows where volume was a problem, but I only had to turn it up to 35 out of 50 on the volume at the worst of it. So, we could live with that.
Summary: I bought these at target and I think there great for our one bedroom apartment. The sound is perfect and when my neighbors decide to blast me out it's cool to be able to return the love with out the heavy cost that normaly follows home theater systems. Set up was easy and sound is great. NOTE: I wouldn't compare them to a top dollar system but for the money I'm impressed, they work great...
Summary: When I first got rt2770 it had those weak little speakers, still sounded ok but I replaced them with a 3 way sony 200 watt speaker for the center two 2 hundred watt 3 way speakers for front right and left and 2 100 watt 3 way lxi speakers for rear right and left. Then I got a teac 10 band equilzer. The system sounds like a upscale system once I was done. I got all this stuff at thrift shop, didnt cost much to upgrade.
Summary: Anyone that's claimed this thing isn't loud or isn't powerful probably hooked it up wrong. I don't know about 1000 watts, but I know with the subwoofer low and the volume at half, I can still feel this thing thumping two stories below the room it's in. The sound quality isn't Bose, sure, but it's better than any TV speaker, and when properly set up, I know exactly which direction to turn in my XBox 360 games, because of the surround sound.
