  1. Some issues with sound and cheap speakers

    So, yes, the unit is priced cheap, and with all those speakers, don't be expecting them to be great. Replace at least the main speakers, and you still got a good stereo for music for the price, but just music. The amp has this power-save or noise reduction scheme that turns off all power to the speakers when there is any silence, and doesn't power them back on for almost 0.5 seconds when someone breaks the silence.     Can hear a little interference REALLY close to the speakers but once you get more than a few inches away you can't here it anymore . Read more

    • Great sound quality especially considering price. Speakers seem decent and sound good.
    • Cables to rear surround speakers just barely reached and are connected inside the speaker so your stuck with the tiny ones they have on them.

    I thought since my 30 year old RCA TV was still working that a RCA sound system would be a good deal. WRONG! Even with 1000 watts of power the sound was sorta weak to me. It took a long time to power up and to change settings from TV to DVD and all the others. Mine started making a weired buzzing, humming, rattle noise when I turned it on after only having it for 85 days. It sounded like a cooling fan going bad inside. Read more

    RCA Rt2770 5.1-Channel, 1000-Watt Receiver Home Theater System 1 I wanted a powerful thousand watt system to replace my 350 watt system that was getting old and did not have the inputs that i would like now that I have an hdtv. This system has all the inputs and outputs necessary for home theater it really lacks in sound quality. There is no hard thumping realistic bass. My old system had a 100 hundred watt sub the sounded so much better. Read more
