Summary: I ordered this system because it resembled the $2000 Bose system. I have watched a few movies and listened to Rap music on both systems and cannot distinguish a difference in the base response. I am very satisfied with the Pyle product because it can produce good quality sound and it very affordable. However, I was disappointed with the included stereo wire; there were only 50 feet and it was pathetic quality.
Summary: Would recommend to anyone who wants Bose style for 1/5 of the price!! The reviews that say otherwise... well maybe they need to do some changes on their A/V receiver like i had to do. you do need to adjust the individual speaker volumes and distances and mess with the bass frequencies till it sounds right. i have seen complaints about scratchy or 'white noise' coming from the speakers...
Summary: But, I didn't expect more. Got these during a Black Friday special for an exercise room. They are worth the discounted price. Sound is a bit muddy and vague. My non-surround set of good speakers/subwoofer in the living room are much better sounding.
Summary: I saw this as a cyber-Monday special, and the great price was accompanied by not so great quality, unfortunately. I have since returned the product. I never got the subwoofer to produce any output, but I think that was just because it was damaged and not an overall statement on the quality of the item. My main issue was that the speakers just didn't have much power to them, or produce high-quality sound.
Summary: When I got it I plugged in the sub and it hummed very loud when I plugged it in. No matter what I did. I tried everything to quiet it down. Then I tried the speakers. They sound like s***. Just horrible. I returned it and still no refund.
Summary: These speakers sound nice. The only con I have is the powered subwoofer cuts off when the power level is below a certain level. This is not a bad idea in theory but the level at which it cuts off is to high so I have to have the sounds system pretty loud before the bass sub will turn on at all. It sometime turns off and on during a show depending on how much bass the show has. It is a bit distracting having the bass cut in and out during movies.
Summary: For a bargain price you wouldn't expect this capability. It made a low power receiver sound good and a Sherwood 300W sound like heaven. You're better off than me if you can get the subwoofer AND the theater speakers on the same volume control.
