Summary: This was by far the most amazing soundbar, I have plenty of parties and this is all you need (and a sub) to get solid quality sound for music and or movies. HIGHLY impressed. I would recommend this to everyone!
Summary: So-so performance but high quality build and components. Even though I like the clean look in our family room, I would probably not purchase again. I would buy a self powered version that plugs into TV.
Summary: I bought this soundbar a couple of years back for my mother. I wasn't comfortable running speaker wires all over her house and expecting her to maintain a 5.1 system in my absence. I didn't get a chance to appreciate the sound quality of this speaker until I bought one for my home for the same reason...I hate wires and with hardwood floors, the wires are harder to hide. This soundbar is fantastic solution.
Summary: I have had my SurroundBar 50 for several weeks so it is broken in and I have had ample time to evaluate its sound. I am using it with a Samsung 46" flat screen monitor and have played many movies both from DVD and BluRay. The SurroundBar is powered by a Yamaha receiver. The Polk speaker has exceptional clarity and, coupled with a Parts Express sub, I get satisfying fidelity and range.
Summary: I had a set of 5.1 surround sound speakers in my living room, but my living room is rectangular shaped and relatively "small" and I was just never truly satisfied with the placement of the rear speakers behind the couch. I very rarely ever heard anything out of the rear speakers and I never really liked the floor stands they were on and the aesthetics of the whole setup. So, with that being in mind, I started looking around at speaker bars.
Summary: Amazon and Polk are both guilty in this situation. They advertise a purchase special (buy a Sound Bar and receive a free sub woofer), at check out the item says it will ship in 5-8 business days. Then you receive an email saying it will take 1-2 months....then they ship the sub woofer first...AND CHARGE FOR IT!!!! I ordered this item over a month ago and still have not received it.. It's BS.
Summary: I was hoping for high quality 5.1 surround sound from the sound bar just like I would get with speakers spread around the room. The sound quality is good, but I am not blown away as I had hoped. My room is not idea for listening and I do not have the option to install a real 5.1 system, so went with the sound bar. Set up is easy and using the speaker calibration capabilities of my Sony STRDA3500ES 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver was straight forward.
Summary: VERY easily installed without any difficulty. NO BASS with surroundbar but did not expect any. Paired with wireless 8inch downfiring Polk subwoofer i225/Harman Kardon AVR 1600 with great result.
Summary: bottom line: i got this sound bar for half off, it can handle a whopping 150w/channel, and almost takes the place of having surround sound speakers. almost. my story: i have this paired up with a receiver that can dish out the wattage this sound bar can handle, and the level of sound is so impressive. the clarity of the highs is to die for, and the lows are near to none, so MAKE sure you have a subwoofer that can compliment this wonderful piece of technology.
