Summary: Used with 55 inch Samsung 3D TV. Adds more dimension and Fullness to the TV sound. Replaces 7.1 system, not quite the same sound but, according to my wife, "All of those wires a finally gone".
Pros: Clear Sound, Easy To Set Up, Good Remote, Interfaces Well With TV
Summary: got this to go with a Sony 32 inch TV for a bedroom. the sound almost overwhelms the TV, but in a good way. the addition of wireless subwoofers to soundbars is a definite plus. set up was easy, including having the soundbar volume, mute and power respond to the Comcast cable remote. the only workaround was programming the soundbar to respond to "aux" power (on/off) so pushing "all on" powers on or off the TV, cable box and soundbar.
Pros: Clear Sound, Easy To Set Up, Interfaces Well With TV
Summary: I wanted to get better than TV sound without getting into a complex install with multiple speakers. Very happy with what we got. The bass is very good. But keep in mind it will not be the same as a full surround sound set-up.
Summary: Excellent Sound and Sub_Woofer... Not as rich as the Bose Cinemate 1SR, but at less than a third of the cost, delivers 90+% of the sound... An excellent value proposition... Some issues I don't like... 1. No ability to adjust Bass or treble 2. No visual indication of the sound volume... lights blink when adjusting, but no level displayed... 3. Can not get Volume Adjustment to sync with my Dish Network remote... However these are common issues with many soundbars...
Summary: Polks Surroundbars are not going to take the place of a true 5.1 surround system. But let me say they pump out serious sound, the subwoofer makes all the differance. Easy hookup would highly recommend.
Summary: Once I hooked up the optical cable directly to my DVR (instead of to the optical out on my tv) the dolby signal came thru fine. But since there is only one optical port on the surroundbar, my playstation3 can only hookup via an audio jack, so it only gets stereo and not dolby. You can get a optical cable switch, but that would mean more wires, and the need to physically switch the switch when you want to go back and forth between the different inputs.
Pros: Attractive Design, Easy to Mount, Easy To Setup, Good Power Output, Great Sound Quality
