Summary: Although the sound quality is good, I wish there were adjustments for bass and treble. This would allow for fine tuning for various programs. The audio adjustments on my Samsung 40" LCD do not transfer to the soundbar.
Summary: Bought this item to consolidate wiring from the 5.1 system that I have had for 7 years. After using it for a week, I am very happy with this soundbar. I was originally nervous that the sound quality would not be as good as a 5.1 system. It isn't, but unless you are an audiophile you won't notice the difference. The wireless subwoofer works well, and only has a plug to the wall.
Summary: It took us some time to pull the trigger on a sound bar but we are happy we did. Polk was easy to set up and use while adding a new dimension of excitement with its wireless sub-woofer (at one point my husband thought we were in the midst of an unexpected thunderstorm as I watched a show). It does not take up much space which was another strong positive.
Summary: I tried one of the Sony soundbars (HT-CT150 3D) and I wasn't very impressed with it. I liked some of the adjustments I could make with the various sound options but it still didn't sound clean to me. I originally didn't consider Polk because it was more expensive. Although, it produced better sound when I listened to it, the price was something I took into consideration (which we all do). I caught a good deal on Amazon and I figured I'd give it a try.
Summary: I recently moved into a new apartment with a lot more space and an extra room, which we turned into a den. This afforded me an opportunity to set up a mini-home theater in this room ( I have a 5.1 component system in the living room.) This room isn't big enough (sitting area approx. 12' W x 12' D) for a full surround setup, but I can't tolerate watching an HDTV with the internal TV speakers, which without fail end up sounding awful.
Summary: Excellent Sound and Sub_Woofer... Not as rich as the Bose Cinemate 1SR, but at less than a third of the cost, delivers 90+% of the sound... An excellent value proposition... Some issues I don't like... 1. No ability to adjust Bass or treble 2. No visual indication of the sound volume... lights blink when adjusting, but no level displayed... 3. Can not get Volume Adjustment to sync with my Dish Network remote... However these are common issues with many soundbars...
Summary: I have owned this unit for about two weeks. As others have said, the setup is little else than plugging in the power cords for both the bar and the subwoofer, then wiring the bar to the source. I didn't have to sync the sub, it worked right out of the box. I bought this with the intention of using it as a simple, uncluttered, better-sounding replacement for my TV speakers.
Summary: Polks Surroundbars are not going to take the place of a true 5.1 surround system. But let me say they pump out serious sound, the subwoofer makes all the differance. Easy hookup would highly recommend.
