Pioneer HTP-GS1

The HTP-GS1 surround sound system from Pioneer is a 5.1 channel speaker set that has been designed specifically for the Microsoft XBox 360 gaming console. It features the same design elements found on Microsoft’s next generation gaming console and even shares similar control buttons. The Pioneer HTP-GS1 is composed of a subwoofer with an integrated audio receiver, five satellite speakers and a separate display.

Receiver

The speaker system’s receiver offers 600 watts (RMS) of power and features studio-quality surround sound with its built-in decoders for Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic Surround, Dolby Pro Logic Surround II and DTS Digital Surround. In addition, Pioneer has also equipped the HTP-GS1 with its Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration technology. This proprietary calibration system will automatically optimize and tune the speakers’ audio output to match the layout of the room.

The HTP-GS1 offers the user several surround sound modes to chose from. These modes include Advanced Movie and Music, Expanded, TV Surround, Sports, Game, Virtual Surround and 5-Channel Stereo.

Pioneer has also included an FM and AM radio tuner with support for RDS.

Speaker System

The Pioneer HTP-GS1’s front and rear satellites come in a bookshelf speaker form factor, with each speaker measuring 4.1 x 4.6 x 4.5 inches (W x H x D) with a weight of 1.3 pounds. The center channel speaker measures approximately 10.6 x 3.5 x 3.9 inches (W x H x D) with a weight of 1.8 pounds while the subwoofer with the integrated receiver measures 7.9 x 14.8 x 17.5 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 19.8 pounds.
