  • Conclusion: If you’re not obsessed with High Definition yet, this one-box system is one of the easiest and cheapest ways to get an impressive home cinema up and running.
  • Pros: Merely glancing at anything with a Pioneer badge can be enough to empty your pockets, but not with this surprisingly affordable home cinema set-up.   • Cons: The four imposing ‘tallboy’ speakers might make smaller living rooms look as though they’ve been invaded by traffic lights. At least Pioneer gives you the option of ‘Front Stage Surround Advance’, where all four speakers are placed alongside your telly to produce a convincing virtual surround.
