Soundbar

Martin Batten, Amazon
6 September 2010
  • Summary: Bought it to use in our camper. It works out well in a small room. DVD was a prime reason for the choice, combined with a good price/discount. Pros Compact simple solution to improve on plasma TV speakers. Provides a DVD player, making it a good contender for a camper. Plays iPod also, with on screen menus. Although I preferred to go back to using the in ceiling speaker system after trying it out. Plays TV sound. Simple connects - 1 HDMI and 1 pair of phono connectors.

Great value

VAP, Amazon
29 March 2010
  • Summary: Mid-range sound rendition is very good. DVD/CD player and AM/FM radio simple to use. Very easy to wire/connect and toggle between inputs. Still, like all these products, requires the use of a remote separate from the Comcast cable remote. Other than that, no complaints. Excellent value,I believe. Philips AmbiSound Home Theater Sound Bar with Integrated 1080p-Upscaling DVD/MP3 Player, HTS8100/37 Doubt I'll use the MP-3 "dock" since I don't have/use any product having it.

Christian R. Krogh, Amazon

  • Summary: After placing order I received the sound bar in about 2 weeks, The first one they gave me a tracking number got "lost," I think it never shipper. I called them and asked them to look into it and they then sent another one the next day. After receiving it in about 1 week I found that after it was set up the DVD player did not work. I called next day and requested that they only send a replacement sound bar.

Great Sound Great Value

T. Sarpa, Amazon
17 October 2009
  • Summary: I bought this sound bar to replace a 5 year old home theater system and dvd player. I wanted to get rid of the tangle of wires and cords and improve the dvd player (formerly only 480p). I was willing to lose the "surround sound 6.1" capabilities because my new house does not lend itself currently to descretely wiring all the speakers. The sound from this bar is more than an adequate replacement.

Sounds Great but does not replace 5.1 sound

Stephen M., Amazon
11 October 2009
  • Summary: I bought this product knowing it was not as good as surround sound. I did not want wires running all around my living room. The sound from my TV is greatly enhanced even thought it's not true surround sound. The unit looks great under my Phillips TV. After reading some of these reviews and some people questioning the sound. I was connecting my unit and needed some support. I was surprised to reach a real person who spoke english. They were pleasant and very helpful.

Perfect for the Purpose

L. Bechler, Amazon
3 December 2007
  • Summary: I just installed the soundbar last night under my existing Philips 42" Plasma HDTV and it goes perfect with it both sound and looks. I bought it not to have audiophile sound, but something better than the 2 TV speakers and to get as close to surround without having to run wires, drill holes, mount speakers, etc. We have it in our living room. I have a bonus room upstairs where my real expensive surround system will eventually go.

Great Fidelity, Gorgeous Look, lack of real 5.1 exp.

JORGE LIZAMA "Engineer", Amazon
2 November 2007
  • Summary: I bought this sound system after i take a good research at the actual home theater market today, my apartment is not big, but i had special care to decorate it with my wife, so it was urgent not to ruin this with something like a muteki system, but still im a electronic fan, so i know the diference between a dolby pro logic II and a Dolby full surround, i passed form the the BOSE and Sony Bravia 5.1 system to some HTIAB one pice that try to emulate 5.1, i went to their...
