Summary: The sound bar first off works as advertised and sounds good. However, the sound bar itself has issues within itself. Meaning, I am at times unable to turn on my sound bar from the power switch on the sound bar instead I have to use the remote. And if your batteries are low your remote will not work.
Summary: Very disappointed that it only lasted a year and a half. And when I contacted Phillips, they say sorry, but would you like to buy a refurbished unit? Ha! Yeah right. Why does your junk last only a year and a half?
Summary: AT first it took longer and longer for the sound to come back on after powering it down. Then one day it quit working. It seems this is problematic with this device. I need something thin and long to stick on a fireplace mantel under the tv and this is it. it wall mounts.
Summary: Bought it to use in our camper. It works out well in a small room. DVD was a prime reason for the choice, combined with a good price/discount. Pros Compact simple solution to improve on plasma TV speakers. Provides a DVD player, making it a good contender for a camper.
Summary: WOW I am so impressed with this sound bar. It was so easy to install, has a docking station for my ipod and a DVD player right on the bar. A smaller unit then expected with great sound. Use in a game room 25x30 with hardwood floors and it sounds great.
Pros: The sound is great, the setup was easy, it looks great also.
Cons: I'm not able to turn the system on with the remote. I have called Philips but no one seems to work in that department, so I have to get up to turn it on. Which isn't a big deal it's just inconvenient.
Summary: Bottom line, this is a decent mini system (with decent sound quality) with everything in it. If you want some real surround sound, go get a HTIB in similar price range with 5.1 speakers. Any of these will beat this soundbar in the sound effect category.
Pros: I would like to first identify my "listening" level so you can judge my review on my experience. I do have a full blown 5.1 home theater system with Polk's floor standing, center loudspeakers, and a 400W subwoofer on a Yamaha V765 receiver. I am not an "audiophile" person but I do like to listen ...
Cons: 1. Mid-range is weak. I bought a polk's soundbar for my in-laws and tested it before I sent them. The polk does much better in the mid-range 2. No blu-ray 3. only one digital input 4. You can't feel any effect more than stereo, even a cheap $200 HTIB will do better in sound separation (with worse...
Summary: Again....for the money it is a great system. Really nice for apartment type set-ups
Pros: Price first of all...easy to hook up....great stereo sound. Your surround sound expectations shouldnt be too high. It sounds great though....dont get me wrong. Subwoofer gives nice, smooth bass vibes. You can blow the windows out if you choose so...landlords frown on that though
Cons: Would be cooler if it was a blu-ray player....but hey...it is what it is.
