The Philips HT-S3544 is a five star, 5.1 home theater system. It is 1000 watts of power thanks to Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro-Logic II and DTS surround–sound. It has a progressive scan DVD player which up-converts to 1080 pixels for a HD resolution premium picture. It has an iPod docking station that charges the iPod, as well as plays your favorite movies and music. Read more
This is my first HT system and I've owned it since spring of 2009. Surprisingly, it is still works as it did new. I'm not an audio buff so I speak from the views of an average consumer. I use the surround sound every day for about 2-5 hours each day and all speakers still work and all buttons are still in tact. **knock on wood** I'm on my 2nd HDTV now and am surprised to read other reviews saying that their units died after 1-2 years. I was very happy when it worked, but that was for way too short of time. Ultimately, I regret buying this system and have found many people with the same problems I have experienced. I think it has something to do with a very cheap power supply that can't be replaced. It sits in my living room right now looking pretty and wasting space (with my DVD still stuck inside!). I'm cursing Philips for making such a cheaply made product. Read more
Needed a replacement system for our 5th wheel camper. Set it up in our living room for test. It sounds great and will be perfect for the space in our camper. Surround sound functions very well and it was simple to setup. Read more
Philips HTS3544 Home Theater System 5 Alright, I am an audiophile and love to tweak stuff all the time to get a perfect setup. I have a lot of experience with car audio but not much with home audio. I knew when buying this product that it doesn't have a lot of tunability on the EQ curves but it was cheap and everyone said it sounded good. I decided to give it a try. Well, I love it. Read more

My HTS3544/37 is great, we have had for 2 years now.It plays music CD clear and is clear with the television itself, however we tried to watch a movie recently and it skipped and was stuck in a frame yet sound was clear but picture was not there, then just froze up then goes to standby. I purchased a kit to clean the lens assuming it was dirty, but it reads "NO DISC" & then goes to standby again and it takes a bit for it to stop & open to remove cd?Any ideas what it could be?or the cost to repair or who could repair it? Love the MP3 dock, surround no issues there?HELP
